There are many ways to drive traffic on your site. You have to get SEO tools for starting your site by earning some money for managing your budget. Then, after some time you may get the services of SEO company for getting No.1 ranking of your site. You can also promote your site on Social Media.

      Hi Mpmurray,

You could try advertising, after all you did post this on the PPC advertising board, right?

People looking to purchase a bike usually start with Google search, so you can use AdWords to get lots of highly targeted traffic.

Your website is not setup to get conversions, before you begin advertising consider fixing this. Your product images are too small, you do not show prices, and your affiliate links seem to look identical to non-clickable content headings.

How are people suppose to know that there are actually links that can be clicked?

You need to make your clickable links stand out. Try using the standard underlined blue text color for links, so that your users know where they can click. Another option would be to replace your barely detectable links with a nice colorful Call-To-Action button.

Also, instead just focusing on a single product in your reviews you should be comparing similar products and providing detailed product comparisons to add more value to users. Also, consider recommending a specific product for each use case, don't leave your users guessing, tell them which bike to purchase, then watch you conversions soar.

When you have your website ready for marketing, setup Google analytics so that you can track and measure what is working and adapt to what your users want.

Since your website is all about product reviews make sure that you are targeting keywords that contain the terms "review", "recommendations", "advice", etc. so that you can get the the right audience for your landing pages. Consider adding remarketing/retargeting tags to get people coming back.

Thank everyone for taking the time out. Some great and valuable feedback. Dburk sorry to ask a simple question, what do you mean my websites not set up for conversions? I am trying to teach my self seo. How many searches per month is a good keyword with low competition? I read somewhere 3,000. However these are hard to find. What about keywords of 800, should I ignore these? I will be following your advice with the changes to the product review content. If I go around the paid route on Adwords, ppc can it be done on a low budget? If so how much? What's traffic exchanges? Anyone know any good resources for learning seo for the body content. Sorry for all the questions.

          Hi Mpmurray,

You don't have to ignore keywords with lower volume, especially if they are highly relevant and have high commercial intent. Those can be like gold dust to a prospector. If you find enough of them they can really add up. You just need to focus on the relative value of the keyword, not purely the relative ease of ranking them in organic SERP.

With low competition keywords, you do need to be careful, often there is a good reason the competition is low. If the keyword is too ambiguous you will just waste time and money trying to target it. If it is a highly specific and relevant keyword then it could be a very good term to target.

Please bare in mind that most low competition keywords are targeting the top of the marketing funnel, which is to say that users being targeted are in the earliest stages of the buying cycle and may need some sort of retargeting campaign to keep them coming back to finally make the purchase.

AdWords has no minimum ad spend requirement, and no minimum cost per click that you must bid, so you are totally in charge of how much you are willing to spend. Obviously, the more you are willing to spend, the quicker you will reach profitability, and the more money you can make each month.

Here's a link to Google's starter guide for SEO that will teach you the basic concepts of proper SEO of your content:

    1. You can get traffic for many methods.

The easiest and fastest way is to use PPC ads.

The traffic you'll receive from ads is targeted and converts better.

Also don't forget to build your email list at the first place.

    2. You can make your brand more popular though CPM, it means show your ads everywhere you can.

For a new website, I suggest the following ways to get more traffic:
If you are pretty engaged around and don't have enough time, there is two (or more) simple ways:
1-Buy Traffic (Be careful to choose the right one) I suggest: trustedtrafficstore.co (Visitors pay high attention)
2-Advertise on AdWords (Visitors pay high attention)
3-Use traffic exchanges (Visitors pay less attention)
Lean SEO strategies on how to rank your page higher on search engines. This takes some time.

Sure, free traffic is good and all but it shouldnt stop there. If you want to increase in terms of visits and revenue, you have to hit hard, fast and accurate. Engage in media buying preferably thru a DSPs RTB platform. It has targeting options that can seriously zero down on your niche. they have options like third party data or in layman it means if youre category is sports, third party data gets you audience on cyclists. also Geo targeting, the best feature i have probably seen in my life. I think its pretty self explanatory. Check these guys Bluagile - Self-Serve Ad Platform | RTB | Retargeting | Mobile really helpful folks.

Guest blogging and guest posting are good ways to drive traffic but not completely good.
You can use many other SEO services like niche posting, Portfolio sharing etc for a huge traffic.

You need to sit down and plan this all out. Going haphazard is a recipe for disaster.

You have a variety of ways to get traffic and you should exploit them all.

Go do research on the following areas and then get a mind map program and build a blueprint on how you are going to tackle this.

SEO: Site design, Good Content, Building Links *Stay away from anyone promising you quick rankings*

PAID TRAFFIC: I would start slow with this and do rounds of tests. You need to know your site converts before you start throwing lots of money at this. Check out Adwords and Bing... start with bing, it's cheaper and more forgiving. You also have lots of other paid traffic sources but the two above should get you started

SOCIAL MEDIA: Don't ignore pinterest, facebook, tumblr, instragram etc. It's pretty easy to build up a massive following on all of the above except facebook. Facebook will take a little bit of cash. Even still, Pinterest alone represents about 60% of the organic traffic one of my sites gets and it's all free... well free if you don't count the money I pay to a VA to maintain it

EMAIL Start building an email list. If you are targeting UK then use the list to keep people informed about what's happening with cycling in uk. Content, Content, Content, Promote, Content, Content, etc... build a relationship and then give a friendly suggestion about some cool product etc...

      That should get you started

What things should I be doing to set up my website for marketing? My websites Buying a bike? Short reviews of Mountain and Road bikes.

There are far better experts out there to answer questions on eCommerce sites. I really don't have much experience with them to give you good advice on how to optimize the actual site.

Everything I listed above is a a basic marketing overview on what you should plan out to get visitors to your site.

As for what happens when they get there... i'll leave that to the pros

This is one more to consider when it comes to costs. Hiring someone to manage some of the task is somewhat vital. This will help in making sure you hit your targets our goals in the right time. I have a few VAs that help me manage Social Media campaigns and it's well worth it.

Well, for you, whose just starting, I guess you wouldn't need it as much yet but once things gets to much to grasp, go get help

I really like this thread. I learned a lot.
