So I recently posted my website here in the community to ask them if it was good, and I got a very good response. I've basically hooked links in my website's posts to affiliates sites like clickbank, markethealth and amazon.

Now I'm thinking of ways for promoting it and bringing it infront of people's eyes. Facebook hit me, and I heard posts about people nailing a lot with FB Marketing. I have a few problems and querries that I would like to ask the community here.

  • My website is Compare Acne Products (im sorry I have to show it so I can know) does this website looks profitable if I advertise it using facebook. I know it's hard to tell, but I wasn't able to bring in any visitors to check and test conversions and CPL. Do you think it will work with facebook marketing? I've heard about people using facebook to landing and squeeze pages, but is this fine?
  • Will a budget of $5 per day suffice in advertising for 10 days? I know split-testing will take time and I'm aiming at making my cpc reach if not 1 cent but around $0.20 atleast. I don't have much money to waste generally, I'll be borrowing some cash and putting it in. I've seen videos and read a lot of articles training about split testing. Is it possible in a budget of $5 per day? I think I'll be able to split-test my way to a lower cpc and higher ctr in 10 days.
  • How much is the ideal amount of cash I should have according to you for marketing in facebook? I'll actually be re-investing whatever I make so I'm just curious about the figures for a startup in marketing.
  • I ran an ad yesterday on facebook just for a day. $5 perday campaign, got only 4 clicks, cpc sucked at $1.2. According to my knowledge it's because it only ran for a day. In order to increase my cpc I'll have to improve ctr, and to improve ctr I need to split-test more, thus need more time. So basically I need more time to get my cpc to be lower. Am I right?

Thank you.

    Hi, tayyab123
    • Your site looks more or less OK but you need to tweak the product descriptions to get more sales. Accentuate main advantages of each product. Use some attractive visual elements like badges and stuff. The text doesn't read too well now with the light grey font color.

    • Regarding your budget - obviously 5$ a day is a very small budget. You can get some sales here and there but it will take a long time for you to understand what works and what doesn't work. But it's something and I suppose it's better than nothing.

    • You don't know the ideal budget yet. The ideal budget will be the budget which brings you the most profit.

    • Check your bids. Facebook often sets very high default bids. It's likely you didn't even specify a bid. You won't make a profit with this site if you'll pay 1.2$ per click.

I didn't bid anything. I think I was going with Facebook's specified bid. But what if I bid my own price of $0.20 won't there will be less clicks and I'll still be getting charged for the impressions right?

So, that's why you were charged 1.2$ per click. Set your own bid and see what happens.

It's hard to tell if you will receive less clicks. I think that you will actually receive more clicks because your budget won't run out as fast. Anyways, you can't go much lower than 4 a day which is what you got.

And you won't be charged for impressions if you choose to bid on link clicks. Below "Schedule" there's "Optimization for Ad Delivery". Select link clicks to your website. Then set the "Bid Amount" to manual and choose the maximum price you're willing to pay for a click.

You've got to give campaigns at least 24 to 48 hours before even looking at stats and trying to make decisions. Otherwise you're operating on insufficient data.
