hi

In our domain the main lead is that visitor connect with us either through phone or email or chat when he / she lands on our landing page

Most of our competitors use Phone number (Eg . Call Us Now At +somenumber) as a Call To Action. But i am thinking of using Live Chat as a call to action .

do any body have experience with live chats as call to action ?

Hey - try using Bouncehelp - it's like chat but for calls. It will increase conversions.

I use tawk.to which is free.

However, I would split test both options.

    Hey,

I have not used it as a CTA, but if a potential customer is on the website for a certain time period we have a pop up that asks them if they need anymore assistance. It has worked well to get more leads.

    Best Regards,

I'm not sure if there's a definitive answer to this, but I can tell you some anecdotal evidence from one of my own businesses.

We tried both and the phone number worked WAY better than live chat.

      Here's why:

With live chat we had a lot of tire kickers. The style of communication is one in which you can quickly open the live chat and quickly close out without really hearing any sales pitch etc.

      It's very noncommittal.

Additionally, the agents had to be online and available for live chat which pretty much meant that they were only kind of working most of the time that they were "online".

With the phone we were able to utilize a pretty decent messaging system, so that if someone wasn't available to pick up the phone there could be that quick message, but we didn't have to waste paying someone to sit hanging around waiting for the phone to ring.

      To give you some background:

We were running about 2000 clicks per day through Facebook ads to a sales page. On the sales page we were selling a service.

So I don't know how applicable that is to your particular situation, but we just found that conversion rates were better on the phone, we spent a lot less money to get those conversions from the phone, and most of the live chat people were just tire kickers/random Internet people etc.

In our case live chat is more economical then phone. It almost cost us $0 to set up and manage live chats .

But as you have mentioned we also had very good conversions with phone . But we did not tested a pure live chat set up yet .If this works it will be highly beneficial for Us .

This article should convince you of the value of using live chat, when done the right way:

But it doesn't have to be an "either or" decision. Much better to test one against the other, against both.

Live chat is better for getting more conversions. Integrating a live chat helps user to engage more into your websites and getting helped to customers.

I can share with you my opinion as a visitor of such websites. It's not always convenient for me to have a call, so I almost always choose chatting.
As for me the best way for you is to offer your visitors an alternative. Because for someone it's vice versa and they would prefer to have a call.

Thank You guys for your opinions .It looks live chat set up as CTA has a potential. we have started to try them out . We will share results with you as soon enough data is available .

For phones i agree they give very good results but we want to try live chat as CTA because if proven successful then they are the most suitable option for us
