How many clicks before calling it quits?

by langdont 9 replies
Ive been working in the adult area with cpa and Im having a hard time getting things to convert. I can get the engagement with a decent CTR, but nothing is converting. I have one campaign that has 552 clicks with no conversions. My question is how many clicks should I test a campaign before calling it quits and going to another offer.

I usually quit when there are no conversions after spending 1-2 times the offer payout.

Do not get between a wombat and a chocolate biscuit; you will regret it dearly!

great advice. This is definitely the perfect way to judge to quit or not

I think the best criteria to use is more to do with your ad spend rather than the number of clicks. Usually, it's about 1.5/2 times the offer payout.

Although if you believe the offer is very good, it can be a good idea to tweak your campaign such as improving your ads rather than calling it quits and going to another offer.

The one thing you're not saying is; where are you getting your clicks from?

I've had different offers convert differently with different traffic sources.

One more thing to consider. Direct linking is tougher to make money at than list building is.

You should think about building a list in that market and then marketing to them over and over with different offers. Some will convert, some won't.

Thanks everyone for the help. The trafficsource Im using is traffichaus with direct linking to the cpa landing page. Also Thank you Enfusia for the great read, just making my way down through it now. Much appreciated!

You're welcome. The thing is, in your market I don't know what's good or not.

So, here's my norm. I test traffic with $100. If after spending $100 I am not at least making a little profit I move on. If I'm in profit I look to see how I can tweak it to increase that.

If I can, then I look to at least double my money.

If I can't tweak it, I move on.

That's my formula. For me, real keeper campaigns are where I'm building a list and making 3X my investment the 1st month or more. That to me is a good campaign.

Your welcome on the read. I hope you get value from it.

you should use analytics to see how well your landing page is working for you. with 522 clicks you should have gotten around 10% to 20% clicks.
secondly maybe the clicks you are getting arent good clicks but gotten from a bad source leading to low conversion

I usually quit only when I know WHY it is not converting.

Then I will use new information I have learnt and
create a better campaign to recoup my losses from there.

As Enfusia has mentioned, rinse and repeat. If it doesn't work try to see why it hasn't worked. Maybe some change in Ad would make better conversion or just that offer screams don't click me. If it's not working move on until you find a better one that can make you some profit and see how you can tweak and scale it. Solarwarrior also mentioned that you need to see why it is not converting and learn from it so take their good advices and try to figure out why not
