A/B testing is an online marketing method where dissimilar versions of a product are used to see which one users or customers prefer. With online products, such as a webpage, email campaign or advertisement, A/B testing can be carried out with comparative comfort and yield quick results due to the prompt and detailed analytics that testers obtain.

A/B testing helps to find the optimal version of a landing page, a carousel in navigation, a button's colour, a CTA's text, a headline etc. Sometimes a small change can result in a big difference in terms of purchased products, downloaded software or simply users engagement.

UX/UI theory says that from the psychological point of view it's better to place text here or CTA there, or that focus should go to that place. However, when you put everything together (website's design, users and text) it turns out the rules do not apply to your situation. And A/B testing is to help you spot that.

There are numerous tools for A/B testing. I personally used this one Design Surveys with Verify and it was ok .

Human mind is strange. A small change can double, triple your profits. What is the best color for the buy button? Or the page placement for the button? Or the product price?

Unless you find out from people that already split tested similar products as yours, you have to test yourself. Since there are many things to split test, it is better to do them one by one so you understand where the gains or loses come from.

Have you need that most of the products in IM cost 7, 17, 27, 47 or 97? That is not a coincidence.

    Hi, everyone!

Useful answers, thanks to those who contribute.

I just wanna add that sometimes one may not be sure which element of his marketing strategy is effective. For example, you want to know which of your two banners converts better. You need to test them together: at same auditory, same time, same conditions.

There are lots of factors that may influence conversion rate. So you need to provide similar factors while testing a feature in order to get sure your A/B-testing is correct.

A/B testing is a strategy for contrasting two forms of a website page or application against each other to figure out which one performs better. Abdominal muscle testing utilizes information and measurements to approve new outline changes and enhance your transformation rates.

A/B testing is the simplest, most straightforward testing method available. Most of you probably understand what A/B testing entails, but for those who don’t: A/B test is a process through which you provide different versions of an email to statistically significant groups of subscribers, and then measure their reactions to those versions in order to understand which is more effective at driving the behavior you prefer.

A/B testing or split testing is used to compare two versions of a webpage or app against each other to see which one performs better. You need to track data like CTR improve your conversion rates, you can also use heatmap software to see where peopel click and interact on your site.

Try using A/B testing for the following, you can easily setup a variation of an existing landing page:

-Colours of the CTA button and form

    -Position of form

    -Position of logos

    -Position of text

-Copy and language of the text

A/B testing is a process of running a simultaneous experiment between two or more pages to see which one performs the best and it helps to determine which combination of elements on the website works better.

Hi gcj1408! A/B testing is simply the process of comparing 2 variation/models (with a being the Control and B being the variation) in order to see which one performs better or is more effective to use.

Normally, this process is used during website development. But nowadays, it can also be used in determining marketing strategies. I for myself have use A/B testing in order to determine the best affiliate marketing campaign that would work for me...

Usually the best applications for A/B testing are testing one ad copy against another, one design against another, one headline against another, one button color vs another, etc. When doing true A/B you want to stick to that sort of thing. Don't test too much at once or you won't know what made the difference.

You can also do an offshoot of A/B called Multivariate testing. That's where you will test several items on a page at once. So, maybe you have already done an A/B test of your ads and are happy with how that is converting. You have done the A/B test of designs and selected the best one. Now you want to test the best button color, headline, button copy, etc. You could run a multivariate test that would test all of those items against each other at once.

I like to start with testing my ads in ppc first 3 of them at a time running. I will test completely different text ads against each other. If it's display I'll stick with a good text piece of an ad and just test hundreds of different images. On the page side of things decent enough to at least break even I start testing page designs and layouts to pick a good one there. Then, once I find that I'll start testing headlines, button color, button copy, hero pic, etc. Hope that helps.

A/B testing (sometimes called split testing) is comparing two versions of a web page to see which one performs better. You compare two web pages by showing the two variants (let's call them A and B) to similar visitors at the same time. The one that gives a better conversion rate, wins!

A/B testing (also known as split or bucket testing) is a method of comparing two versions of a webpage or app against each other to determine which one performs better. AB testing is essentially an experiment where two or more variants of a page are shown to users at random, and statistical analysis is used to determine which variation performs better for a given conversion goal.

I used optimizely for a/b testing. You don't need to do any programming. You change stuff on your landing page using a wysiwyg editor.
