Look at this definition: native advertising is the integration of marketing content with a website or service in such a way that it is not distinct from the rest of the material presented there is terms of its content, format or placement. In order to find the best network for running a native ad campaign, I suggest you to read this article 4 Native Networks to Consider for Native Ad Campaigns - WhatRunsWhere.

    Single-sponsor issues

In the print world a single-sponsor issue is when a single advertiser sponsors an entire issue of a magazine.

The most famous example occurred in August 2005 when Target bought all the ad space (about 18 pages, including the cover) in the August 22 issue of The New Yorker.

As Stuart Elliot wrote when he originally reported on the campaign, “The goal of a single-sponsor issue is the same as it is when an advertiser buys all the commercial time in an episode of a television series: attract attention by uncluttering the ad environment.”

Again, in this case, no clear call to action, just brand awareness.

The way this works online is similar: a single sponsor buys all of the ad inventory on a website (or network of related websites) for a certain time period — a day, half a day, or even just an hour. Subway, for example, does this often on sports websites, usually timed to coincide with specific noteworthy events.

When our Director of Content Jerod Morris was running the sports blog Midwest Sports Fans, he would get such opportunities about once a month via the site’s affiliation with the sports blog network YardBarker.

All it took to make happen was inserting a special code into the header, which would control the already-in-place YardBarker ads. Then all sites in the network that chose to take part would show the same ads from the same sponsor, and only those ads.

Native advertising is kind of like a compilation of marketing content with a site. The site can be of both sales and service. But it isn't something remote from its content, format or placement or the rest of the material presented there.

Although native ads is a thing that's been around for very long, and to the core it means "an ad that doesn't look like an ad, but like content", nowadays in affiliate marketing circles it's mostly referring to content discovery native ads.

They are the ads you see at the end of a post (or sidebar or top of the post or in popups or anywhere) which look like related content. It usually would say "From around the web", "You may also like", etc.

Publishers are using it to monetize their sites quite successfully, and also to buy traffic to their content (doing traffic arbitrage), and affiliates are using them to drive traffic to prelander pages where they pre-sell their offer. These presells often look like content, but they are advertorials.

Have a look at http://www.advault.io if you want to buy native ads, because it lets you spy all the major networks and tells you which ads are successful and which are not.

Native advertising is more for branding purposes. You buy ad space but you are not guaranteed clicks or conversions.

Ive tried a couple of them and found that for native ads, Ampiri is particularly strong since they focus on native. They partnered with a bunch of other ad networks and DSPs I was looking into including Avocarrot. I think they even acquired them last year. Anyways, Im pretty happy with them so far given the fill rate, revenue and variety.

The benefit here is that native ad affiliate campaigns can be masked as content

Native advertising is often instructional rather than accurate marketing material, it is treated to be valuable for the advertiser's brand.
