    Congrats on having conversions.

That's the first step to profitability.

By optimizing, you are essentially trying to find what is causing those conversion and make it better. One of the ways to do so is to track which keywords are causing those conversion.

From there, you drilled down to the time and duration where those conversion occurs.

If you have a lander, you will perform what is known as A/B testing to find what elements in the page can be improved to get more conversions.

This is important in Bing where traffic volume are generally lower and the only way to get more sales is by optimizing your traffic.

By scaling, you are trying to find more keywords that converts and increase the traffic volume to your offer.

I wish I have a whole day to type on the subject that has fed me for years, but this is basically what optimizing and scaling is all about.

thank you very much for taking the time to explain this. i greatly appreciate it
i am tracking and i see that out of 100's of keywords its about 10 of them that are actually doing the conversions. one last question if i may, how much data or clicks do you wait for in a campaign before you optimize and scale? thank you sir.

On an average of 100 clicks.

However, I have seen alot of cases where students dismissed keywords assuming that they can't convert when the fault lies in other elements like ads or landing page that is hindering the conversion.

  • I'll generally optimize on Bingads by first going through the dimensions tab and then Search Terms to find the exact keywords being searched.

Take keywords that do not fit your product and move them into a negative keyword list for the campaign.

    Keep doing this daily.

Then I look at the keywords themselves and depending on how I'm doing the match I would cut things like Exact keywords out at 1.5X offer spend.

So if the offer pays out $10 I will cut the keyword at $15. This is for exact keywords. If you are using Broad Keywords or Broad Match Modified then you have to relly more on clicks but this is also where negative keywords come into play.

a Tip: Forget Bing PPC. They have much smaller search volume, the easiest keywords needs days to get clicks, and then it looks like all the competitors have done this. I run campaigns with lots of clients, because they wanted that. But NO ONE earn any money. Last year everybody had this 150$ coupons. My God, it was so bad that none of the product or campaign made a single SALE after totally wasting the coupon. If you have to much money, buy your wife or children gifts....

I love people like you cause they helps to fend off any potential competitors in Bing.

I don't deny Bing has a lower search volume, but I have students making sales and profit in Bing every single day.

Maybe you want to look the reason why you are not profiting with Bing instead of making a sweeping statement for it.

  • Optimizing is drilling down in the data to see what's working. Which keywords are getting you the most sales, which ad copy is converting the best, etc. Delete what doesn't work and scale what does. But you have to be careful because looks can often be deceiving. For example you might see one keyword that is getting you tons of optins for cheap, which looks great at first. But when you look a little close you see that this other keyword that's costing you twice as much per lead is actually what's producing most of your sales. Or maybe you see that most of your sales are coming from women but your spending more money on clicks from men. The goal is to maximize profit and minimize spend. Hope that helps

Thanks for explaining it in such a precise manner. While others have discussed how to do it and what steps to take to do the optimization your comment helps make sense what is it that the steps listed by other members hope to achieve. Your examples help to illustrate the process as well as the technique. Stay blessed. Stay successful

    Hi antoniovk,
Thats great that you're getting conversion. Yes! Its really easy to get conversion when you're getting targeted traffic from Bing. And usually bing sends low cost & converting traffic.

The PPC (pay per click) things always runs on Test & Test. If you're getting 30 leads out of 50 clicks. Its really a good standing performance. But, as you know, the more test, the more optimization can bring you more good results.

So, the optimization means: track your converting & non-converting keywords. Then invest more to the best keywords. Its the logical formula for this PPC Game. Try to get a Winning campaign that will make you at least 200% ROI (Return of Investment)
Tracking Software: Prosper202, Voluum, CPVLab etc...

    Hi antoniovk,

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines Optimization as:
an act, process, or methodology of making something (as a design, system, or decision) as fully perfect, functional, or effective as possible
...and PPC campaign optimization is exactly that, making adjustments in an attempt to make your marketing campaigns as effective as possible. The term "optimization" has no special meaning within the industry outside of the basic dictionary definition.

Perhaps a better question to ask is what kinds of things can one do to optimize campaign performance. That is a very good question indeed.

Nearly everything in your campaign that can be adjusted can and should be optimized.

Here is a list of some things that my advertising agency focuses on to optimize PPC campaigns for our clients:
    • Marketing Strategy
    • Landing Pages
    • Value Propositions (in ad text)
    • Ad Creatives
    • Message Match
    • Location & Language Targeting
    • Account Structure
    • Keyword Selection
    • Keyword Grouping
    • Keyword List Expansion
    • Automatic Bidding Algorithms
    • Budgets
    • Device Targeting
    • Seasonality
    • Day Of Week
    • Hour Of Day

Some of these things may be fairly obvious, others you may find unfamiliar. If you have questions on any of the specific items listed please let me know and I will provide more detail on how we make adjustments to optimize campaign performance.

        Hi davismiller097,

The main thing you need to be aware of, and always remember, is that the root domain name in your ad's display URL must be identical to the root domain name in your landing page URL. The display URL can be different in every way, except for the domain name, that must be identical to the domain name in the final landing page.

p.s. I have no affiliation with the training program you mentioned in your post.
