How do companies like Uber post ads all over Craigslist?

Hello all,

In regard to PAID postings, I'm struggling to figure out how it is that companies like Uber are able to post job ads in cities all over the world. My confusion lies in the fact that Craigslist policy states you cannot post the same job ad in multiple cities? Yet companies like Uber and Lyft do this with ease. Sometimes multiple ads per day per city. Does anyone know how they accomplish this?

Not a big mystery. Both Uber and Lyft have such large ad budgets that they have their own account managers with Craigslist. I suspect that means they can bypass the ad filters as a result. Like any other marketing platform, money speaks and buys certain privileges.

    Hi TheBigBee,

    It's simple.

I think you may be conflating a "job position" with a "job title", those are 2 distinctly different things.

Uber is not advertising the same job position in multiple cities. That would be a violation of Craigslist policy.

Uber has many job positions available in each city they are listing. While those job positions may share the same "job title", they are not the same "job positions". Their listing is for the specific "job position" available in that city, and not the same "job position" that is listed in other cities.

Very interesting. On first look, I saw that they were in NYC under:
      1. Transportation
      2. General labor
      3. ETC.

I see that they also make sure that each ad is "unique" even though it's basically the same job. Thanks for this insight. Extremely helpful!!!
