Locksmith got hit with "Unsupported Business" Advanced Verification?

Anyone dealt with the "Unsupported Business" being given as a reason for ads disapproval?
It's a locksmith.

I had read articles that it was coming as Google is going out of their way to target locksmiths and plumbers to cut down on scams. I know they were testing and asking locksmiths and plumbers to go through the advanced verification process...

Anyone been through this process successfully?

The locksmith that got hit is in Canada.
They just disapproved his ads in one campaign (his biggest one) so I am assuming this is a warning shot...
and he needs to get sorted quickly...

Hi Peter,

It starts with a getting a Google My Business account with a verified listing.

There are special restrictions on locksmiths and plumbers for certain locations. Locksmiths and plumbers in restricted locations must first pass a business verification check. Here is the Policy page that states this policy:

I believe these restrictions are connected to a new Home Business Services marketplace that Google is currently testing in California. This new ad format is restricted to businesses that have passed an extreme background vetting process performed by Pinkerton Security.

  If this advanced verification is not in place in Canada and yet his ads have been flagged I am wondering if there is much that can be done.
  
  For example on this page https://support.google.com/adwordspo.../6368711?hl=en it says
  they simply don't allow ads for locksmiths unless they have passed a business verification check.
  That is likely 80% of locksmiths currently running ads lol
  
  Are they just going to be stopping all their ads?

Hello Peter.

I had a locksmith client in the US for a few months until last year. Seems this verification is new unless the client did it before hiring me and I was not aware. I can understand locksmiths but plumbers?

Being from Canada too (we're neighbours based on the city you live in on your site so maybe we can meet one day), you know companies implement new things later here. Just wait, eventually they will but a shame a legitimate locksmith has to wait just because he's in Canada.
