Using Page Hijacking Plugins for Landing Pages

I purchased a CPA WSO recently and it's "secret" was to use a page-hijacking plugin to steal the "authority" of a major site, such as Huffington Post, and make it your landing page.
Every single link on the page goes to your offer. Basically it copies their page, right down to the headers, images and text, etc, so the person thinks they really are on CNN, the NYT, or the Washington Post, and they can trust links from them.
This seems a very dark shade of grey-hat to me, and I would be worried if I used it because I could get a cease and desist or worse from it.
Maybe I'm just too old fashioned, maybe I shouldn't have to worry about using this tactic?
