Confused: Front-End vs Back-End

Example:

Running PPC to cold traffic, to a landing page for a $40 info product.

Immediately after successful purchase of $40 info product, same customer is offered two upsells.

This is the cold traffic funnel... core offer, then upsell #1, upsell#2

A week later they are put into a welcome email sequence to sell them more stuff.

Which is the "Front-End"?

1. The core offer only (back end = upsell #1&2 + email more stuff followup)

2. The core offer AND upsell#1&2 (since this is cold traffic's first visit) , Back-End = email more stuff followup

Has to be a consistent answer since the #'s could be so different.

Which is the front end, which is the back end?
#backend #confused #frontend
  • I believe that most people when they talk about the "back-end" is any promotion done after the initial contact. Any visitor coming in and doing an action (fill a form and up to making a purchase) has done so through the "front-end". Everything else you do would be part of the back-end. So #1.
