Does Google Conversion tracking work?

I use Google Adwords and I track the sales channel with customers.
My question is is it worth it to use conversion tracking? Does it provide useful information?

    Definitely YES!

    Conversion tracking is must for all PPC Campaigns, without it you will not be able to optimize your campaigns properly.

    I recommend using Analytics Conversion tracking (Instead of just using the Adwords Tracking) because it has more data for you to look at; like bounce rates, session duration, demographics, new users vs returning visitors, etc.

    After you setup your Analytics Conversion Tracking, you should import your "Goals" to your Adwords account so that you can easily see it in Adwords platform on what campaigns, keywords, ads, etc that has converted.

    Yes of course it works. With conversion tracking your campaign stats are updated usually within an hr of getting the lead so that you know what keywords and ad text are converting, you can then base your campaign optimisation around these conversion stats to only keep your keywords live that are converting.

  • If you're serious about tracking your PPC campaigns, I suggest using a dedicated tracker in addition to Google Analytics.

    Plus, you want to have a "second opinion." You'll be better off being able to compare your conversion data in Google to a second tracking system (i.e. I use Prosper202), especially considering Google can change what they allow you to see, which they do all the time.

    One example is "hiding" some of the keywords that brought a user to your landing page.

    Never rely solely on Google for anything marketing related!

  • YES you definitely should use it. esp with Google because you can allow google to auto bid for you which helps depending on the conversion data. you should be also utilizing click analytics with Google as google doesnt provide all data to you specifically.
