How have you used YouTube Ads ?

I'm looking into this. I get most of my sales from YouTube, so I was wondering if I could up this by paying for ads as well as the organic stuff, maybe with different videos.


I'd be interested in hearing anyone's experience with YouTube ads. Also does it affect any of your other videos ranking from the same account? And does it matter whether the ad is from an established channel or a new one.

    I have done a lot of video ads on YouTube for my clients and happy to share some insights with you.

    Video ads are the best way i know to get a lot of exposure, really fast for your videos. That mass exposure will benefit you in several ways.
    1. You get a lot more direct exposure to your videos which directly increases the number of direct conversions from the video.
    2. Increased exposure helps a newer channel get established faster, with additional views and comments, increasing the benefit of social proof.
    3. The more people that discover your video through ads the more opportunities you get to win shares, comments and referrals, which can have a mutiplying effect on your reach.
    4. If your video is especially compelling you will likely earn direct referral links that will boost organic traffic.

    I agree with dburk, plus you get (cheap) views which are one of the ranking factors, so it's good for your organic views as well.

    Thanks guys. That's interesting but, I can't work out how to mirror my organic views and it be cost effective. Say I get around 6000 views per day for free and I make x sales per day, I can't seem to scale that with paid videos because the cost is too much. But I might be missing something.
