Do campaigns with bad performance affect other campaigns on the same AdWords account?

If a few campaigns are not performing well, will they affect other campaigns under the same AdWords account? Is there such a thing as account-level QS in 2017?

This is very true, you can confirm that by calling to google support

I don't think so, at least not in a significant way, it's not like a bad performance ad group affect the other ad groups in a specific campaign.

I've read somewhere that Google denies having an account-level QS. Also, new keywords no longer have a default QS of 6. Is that a confirmation of something?

  • Think about it logically.

Say a store sells thousands of items. Let's call them Sears. They use Adwords to drive traffic. Sears have a campaign for the toaster ovens they sell, the vacuum cleaners, the TVs and all the rest. The TVs have a poor QS, for whatever reason but the vacuums have a good QS. These are totally separate things, separate campaigns so why would the poorer one after the other?

I also have seen no evidence whatsoever of an account level QS and I've been doing this for 15 years. I have brought campaigns back from life support (QS of 3 or less) to health (QS of 9 and 10) in a matter of days. If there was an account QS, you are saying this would be impossible.

When you start a campaign, the QS is set at 6 by default. It then changes as data comes in. It may go up if you created a great campaign or down if you haven't. Whatever the number, it's the confirmation of how well you are doing compared to competitors.

I've perused some place that Google denies having a record level QS. Likewise, new catchphrases never again have a default QS of 6. Is that an affirmation of something?
