I've put out my first Facebook ad. It only has 1% click-through, how can I improve it?

Audience are people interesting in mushrooms AND clothing, excluding frugal people and designer clothing: https://imgur.com/nXc8CRG

I limited it to the states with good Amazon presence & who search a lot for mushroom-related topics on Google.

Improvements I can think of:
- choose between the ad & the contest, don't put both in one post
- mention Amazon in the post to increase click-through (people trust Amazon)

Any other suggestions?

    You need to focus your niche on one niche at a time. If you have two different offers, promote them separately to two different audiences.

    No offense OP, I don't like the look of that T-shirt. Its certainly not photogenic. It looks to much like ClipArt circa 1998.

    Secondly, drop the "micology" stuff. IMO, you really need to be targeting the 18-34 bracket who are into recreational drugs OR are inspired by hippy culture. So you need to target "aspirational hippies". ( they like VW campers vans, the Beatles, etc) This is your real market. The people who really pick mushrooms probably do their t-shirt shopping in a store like Patagonia!

    Something is wrong with your audience, product or the way on which you place your ad. What I saw so far is that people do not like regular ads or even normal products anymore and you need to approach them in unique way with something original.

    What I think is that the picture of the product you have uploaded is not up to mark. AD must be designed properly to grab the attention of targeted audience. At first, check the facebook insight from the business manager with one keyword (clothing) along with location you want to target.
    Then go for detail targeting with the narrow audience and include more demographics according to Facebook stats. Hopefully, you will get better results.

    I always thought fashion and Mushrooms are a good combination What age group are you targeting? Are you targeting just the cities themselves or also 10-25 miles around it?
