Automating Dealership inventory to Ad Copy

Good afternoon all,

I am in a bit of a bind. I work for an Automotive Group and have assumed a new position developing their SEM and PPC campaigns and strategies. One thing that I am trying to figure out how to do is to build campaigns using our inventory list. It's a lot of inventory, so I am looking for automated spreadsheet solutions, software, etc that can help assist me in this. I know it is possible due to other 3rd parties offering the service, but we have some very specific goals in mind that these services are not willing to adapt to at a reasonable cost. Any tips, classes, websites, webinars or articles would be fantastic!

Thank you, everyone.

  • It all starts at the source, the inventory list. A large dealership may have a database system is that is a great start. Actually, there is likely a CMS system for the website and that should have all the data you need. Simply read from this database or have the data you need extracted to create your campaigns. Note too that you'll need to get data for sold inventory so you can pause those particular campaigns. I do this all the time with one client, having a background in database development, I just created the needed routines to assist. Sounds like that's what you need.

    Sam,

The situation sounds like a job for an Adwords script.

    For DIY'ers:

    More automated (but pricier option):

    Hope that helps.
