Do you need a landing page that references a specific offer in your Facebook lead gen ad?

Hi there,

I wondered if anyone can help me.

If I make a Facebook lead gen ad can the details of the offer be entirely self-contained within the ad and not have to link to a landing page that mirrors the details of the ad? E.g. the only link would be a generic one to my home page which doesn't reference the offer mentioned in the ad.

The idea being that I use the lead gen ad to capture all the details of the target customer and therefore I don't have to send them to a landing page at all.

Many thanks.

    Hey

You can but with limitations - some of the fields you won't be able to add and also, if the form is too long then most people don't want to fill it in on FB.

I prefer to redirect to my own lander which looks a lot nicer anyway and converts better if there's more than 3-4 fields to be captured.

But if you're only running very basic information capture such as name, email and number, give it a shot. Keep an eye on dead numbers as a lot of people will have a phone number in their account that is no longer working, so you might get a better lead if you do direct to your own lander

    Hope that helps!

My most successful landing page is generic as far as I can tell. It allows you to switch offers. If an offer goes down, you may not be as pressed to modify your funnel. I can say that a landing page can convert well (for lead submits offers) without referencing the exact product you are trying to promote. But, this may work for offers that are fairly similar.
