FB Ads For Auto Sales

There was a video I saw from Gary V suggesting the use of Polk data in FB ads as the best way to get leads for car sales. It is now my understanding that due to the data breach that data may no longer be available.
As a sales consultant I want to get started running ads as soon as possible but since I have limited money I want to make my ad spend won't be wasted.
Overall I am wondering what's working. Image ads or video ads, surveys, etc. and the best source of data for car shoppers in my local market.
If anyone has experience running FB ads for local auto sales or can recommend a book/course specific to that industry I would appreciate the advice.
