Brand Impressions Dropped

Hi all,*

I am running Brand search campaigns for my e-commerce business. We have seen a YOY decreases over the past few years in PPC impressions for our branded terms and we're trying to get our heads around what the causes of this may be.

Competition is not an issue or our search impression share but we still see year on year decreases.

As we have grown our PPC accounts over this period, usually you would expect an increase in brand impressions due to return* visitors/purchasers searching for us directly but this does not seem to be the case.

My initial thoughts were that it is simply a change in the way people shop online with a tendency to initially use comparison sites/Google shopping etc. and changes in web browsers to autocomplete urls etc.

As yet, I have not found any data/articles to support these theories so was wondering if anyone had any insights*or similar trends with regards to their brand PPC.

Any help you could offer would be appreciated.

Thanks

Are you using any marketing approach other than PPC?

Could be time to diversify, as a single channel can fluctuate over time to so many factors, it'd make your head spin.

      Hi Ryan,

Yes we have your usual channels, Email, SEO, social etc, but we're not seeing any unexpected changes in terms of volume from these.

It is just interesting to see Brand specifically decrease and wondered whether or not this was a wider issue than just my company or industry.
