Assuming proper keyword targeting, conversions are more a factor of your landing page. You can have the most relevant keywords possible, great compelling ads, but if your page doesn't convince to buy, you'll have low conversion rate. Think of this extreme: a great campaign and everything done right but going to a blank page will result in a 0% conversion rate. It's not a question of improving Adwords itself for a better conversion rate, it's improving your landing page. You have to look at both sides of the equation.

Display advertising, you can target relevant websites to show your ad on. This way you can target super specific people with demographics and interests that match your services or products.

The CR relates to many factors on your website such as UI/UX, content, target audiences, schedule time, bidding strategy, budget,...So you need to classify and clarify which factors impact the CR and then optimize it.

Doubling or increasing the conversions for PPC ads is probably the reason why we invest so much into adwords. One of the best ways to do so is writing killer ad copies and aligning them with the landing pages. Along with using negative keywords simultaneously with exact match keywords.

Try A/B split testing with these approaches and look for the changes.

Conversions depend on the number of factors. Top on the list is the landing page. So it is prudent to ensure that the page is convincing. If it is not, the rate will remain low even if the targeted keyword is proper. You must also try to up the campaigns and target quality traffic.

Looking for ways to increase conversions with adwords.

How many sales/conversions do you get per 100 adwords targeted clicks?

    Please advice.
In my experience, it depends on the season. I have a small travel booking website which focuses on local tours.

In the peak season, I see a good percent of conversion and in the off-season, I lost money in AdWords without any conversion. It is not because AdWords is useless, but no one wants to visit places in monsoon flood season.

So my experience tells AdWords conversion has an effect on the season if your business is related to travel.

Another advice is to make the landing page very user-friendly and gives the visitor a killer offer. Many websites provide similar offers. We should try to give the visitors a better one.

Definitely depends on the product that you advertise.

But just follow the simple rule - target your maximum cost per conversion that you are ready to pay and adjust. It varies very much - if you're selling pizza delivery, obviously you're not ready to pay for click as much as you would if selling yacht charter , right?

CTR is not so important, compared to the quality of clicks that ultimately increases probability of conversions. So focus to get relevant clicks, not to get high CTR AND as many clicks as possible. You could profit even with low CTR, (1-3%), if those clicks are relevant enough.

Ad extensions are a fantastic way to improve conversion rates and click-through rates on AdWords. Even Google has shown that site link extensions will increase your CTR by 10-20% on average. Call extensions increase conversions by 10%, too.

Following are the ways I use to increase conversions for clients:
    1. Check List on the Adwords:
    • After making sure about the basics for increasing the conversions such as the quality score for the ads, best landing page experience, converting description. It is best to create a lists of audiences and start re-targeting.
    • Change the bid strategy to manual CPC or maximize conversions or Target CPA. Maximize conversions or Target CPA requires some past data and conversions (Takes from conversion tracking you created) to get the best results. These are the strategies designed specifically for conversions.
    • Now the system knows what kind of audience to target as per your data. It's the best time to work on the keywords. Keep only those keywords which are converting. Use a combination of different match types- Broad match modifers, phrase match, exact match.( Remove all the broad match keywords).

Next question: "How many sales/conversions do you get per 100 adwords targeted clicks?"
Totally depends on the niche. On an average I've seen 1-2% if the campaign & budget is set up correctly.

If you're getting people to click your ads that's half of the job done. Then it all depends on the landing page if it is convincing and credible, it should be easy to navigate and have the least amount of steps for the user to be able to complete payment. This is a generalization, so please provide more details about your niche, landing page etc, cause these factors play a big role on the outcome.

Google Ads is simple. If you want to improve something first thing you need to do is to split your goal to smaller goals. FOr example, in order to reduce CPA, you need to reduce CPC, in order to reduce CPC you need to improve Quality Score, in order to improve QS you need to improve your Ad CTR, in order to improve CTR you need to test different ad copies. This is just one way of doing it.

The other is to improve Conversion Rate. TO improve CR (after a user has landed), you need to improve your Landing Page and your offer. And so on and so forth.

The #1 thing you can do to increase conversions with adwords is create a keyword specific landing page for each and every keyword. It has been tested and proven time and again a landing page that contextually matches the ad out performs one that does not.

Example: "Mens Weight loss" is the keyword, and has the term in the Ad text, and your lander in the header states "Mens Weight Loss" and there is an image of a fit guy.

a Bad Example: "Mens Weight loss" is the keyword, and has the term in the Ad text, the header on the lander says "7 steps to weight loss" and there is an image of a woman.

How many conversions.. most don't like the answer but 3% should be a MINIMUM. I am not about to say each and every campaign is like this, but I have had an instance or 2 that the Ads were getting 30% purchase conversions.

The first thing that you should check your landing page, if it is convincing and credible, it should be easy to navigate. Also, Focus on quality and relevant ads for your target audience. You can also use some negative keywords. These are the basic facts to get conversions in Adwords.
