Hi,

I'm trying to get into PPC marketing and would like to know if there are good courses/valuable information about how to make successful campaigns.

I'm planning on signing up into Stack That Money forum where people seem to know what they are doing.

What are your thoughts?

Regards.

    Jon Loomer for Facebook

A course will only teach you so much. It really depends on why you are getting into PPC, if its for your own business or helping others grow.

If its about trying to formulate a career then you'll need a lot more than a course as there are so many PPC firms and private contractors who already control the market.

You'll also need to understand market shares for search market control. Udemy maybe could be a good place to start but if this is something you want to make a job out of you'll need to go back to school.

PPC is not what it used to be. Now its way to hard and expensive to really make it work. At least that's been my experience. Have you tried offline? My rule of thumb is if it costs more to market online per click (per lead) then it does to market offline then I choose offline everyday.

    Hope this helps.

Please never say its "too hard" or "too expensive." Both of these are controlled by the campaign owner/operator. As an expert in AdWords and Google Shopping I can easily attest to the validity of PPC as long as its managed and used properly.

Advice: Become a Google Partner and Start Studying AdWords material and then take the exams. > https://www.google.com/partners/

Well it is harder in the sense that you can no longer market any url you wish. They will shut you down right away. Yes I know one can get certified with adwords and study more, but I personally do not care to do so. I already know how to market and I was always on the first page at less than $0.25 per click. I studied adwords plenty and got good at it.But now you cant market a replicated site or blog etc.

Google does not allow any of that anymore. Now if it can be done I have no idea how since I have tried and talked to many people about this and they all share the same problem. I have gone to several of Dan Kennedys marketing seminars and same problem there. But if you know how then that's great and I would not mind learning how. I am not the most techie person which is why after Google complicated it I leaned more to offline sending postcards, letters and ads in magazines which all work fantastic for me.

But I understand what your saying. But for me and my computer moron brain I do offline now. LOL

I can only attest to PPC for branding and product ads. Going outside of the parameters set forth by Google just tells you that PPC is probably not the ideal solution for your business. Or that you'll have to take the PPC model to Facebook or Twitter or other networks.

The nice thing about Google is they provide the study material for free and the exams are free and after the 22nd of September even the Analytics test will be free for Partners.

My biggest problem with Facebook is the targeting. Its either go broad or go home. Twitter is beyond expensive.

Bing simply doesn't have the volume to guarantee "profit" at least in my experience so far.
