Hey everybody

I am a newbie in this forum and this is my first post.I am a freelance writer and I want to promote my blog which I made on blogger, but I am confused that should I use Google Adwords or do SEO? I am very much aware of both these things Personally, I think If I do SEO it will take some time to give results, On the other hand, Google Adwords can give quick results. Kindly, give me your suggestions.

Regards,
Cute guy

Must is a strong word, There are 1000's of people who don't do SEO and just paid and make tons of money so it's not a must but an option (I'm not bashing the option it's a good one but it's not a must)

You should be testing Google Adwords to see if you can get a positive ROI from it. If you can't make it profitable, obviously you should then stop using it. Sometimes finding a positive ROI takes thousands of dollars.

I personally use Adwords only as an addition to normal SEO, and it's paying off for me

Paid advertising is only valid if you can reach the right audience and secure sales as a result. Again, have no clue what your blog is about or what you offer as a service.

If you aren't sure of PPC then you should start with SEO. But this is a blog built on blogger. You would be better off with your own WordPress site.

Hey for blogging you should be using the following for traffic

    - social ( share on fb, twitter and linkedin) use hastags and groups to reach more people
    - Guest posting ( reach out to other blogs for a post )
    - optimise your posts for SEO ( do keyword research, find high traffic keywords and blog around those words, optimise H1 tags and copy
    - When doing research find similar articles, then type the url into twitter. you will get a list of people who shared that article. Reply to each of their tweets with a short message and a link to yours.
    - type URL of similar articles into open site explorer. find out which sites link to them and then email the webmaster for a link to your better content.

Finally with regards to paid search. Use remarketing to build your brand and bring people back. this is the best was to use piad marketing at the beginning. You may also want to use stumbleupon paid discovery or nrelate paid discovery to find new readers. need any more help pm me

Wth is normal SEO? What the hell kind of contribution is this?

Yes you should advertise your site through Google, but also through bing. Yes you should also do e-mail marketing and build a list. Yes, you should have a social media presence as well. Yes, you should do offline marketing. Yes, you should do some PR work which ties in with SEO. Yes, you should reach out to bloggers, and build relationships. Yes, you should reach out to sites with a lot of views and is in the niche that you're in, so you can propose a banner on their page for X amount of $. Do it all.

Well, SEO and google adwords do not seem to be alternatives to me, they are rather complimetary. SEO should be considered a must for automated and posterity effect. Adwords will surely bring you extra traffic but not as an alternative to SEO.

If you have enough money to promote your business via adwords then you can go for it, but it won't give continues result like organic search results and Its temporary only. when you stop spending money on that it will automatically stop showing your advertisement.

I am new to this forum but I thought I would put in my 2 cents. I believe SEO is something you should always be working on but as pointed out by previous users, AdWords is worth trying for quick results and to determine if ppc can be profitable. I also like to use ppc to get quick data in my Analytics to help make more informed decisions going forward.
