Is Affiliate Marketing in Danger?

Hi fellow PIPStars

Here and there I can see some renowned Gurus are claiming that Affiliate Marketing is in great danger. Google "slapped" or going to "slap" Affiliate marketing and this system will not survive in the long run. Internet marketing will be sole area to those who have original products.
I am confused because I just started Affiliate Marketing through PIPS, am I investing in a area which has doomed future for sure?
What is PIPStars opinion on this issue?

Hi,

Affiliate marketing will be around forever...

The key to being successful is developing unique content for your website so your site doesnt look like everyone elses PIPS site including physically, optimizing for keywords, and including additional income streams other than the core programs to give your business a fighting chance...

But the true moral is make your business YOURS and brand yourself....

Take care

I agree with Jeff - I have read the latest 'renown guru' and if you read the article carefully you will see that what Jeff is saying is actually what the guy is saying.

UNIQUE content is what Google wants - VALUE - you can do both of these in the context of affiliate marketing.

It is just there are so many that don't ever go beyond posting their affiliate links and there are trillions of duplicated offers.

The other thing is for instance people who never go beyond using Stone's examples for ads and articles. These are for people to use as examples - but should, as soon as possible be used as a 'blueprint' or 'map' - to say the same thing in your own words.

Affiliate Marketing will be around forever. That's for sure. And don't forget that you don't have to sell work at home and online business opportunities ONLY. You can sell ANYTHING online in any type of niche.

That's what ClickBank is for.

Hello, amreen:

I definitely agree with the responses already given here. Affiliate Marketing is not in jeopardy, but certain tactics employed by individual Affiliate Marketers may be. As mentioned, uniqueness is the key, both to survival and to success.

Typically when someone tries to tell you that "Affiliate Marketing is Dead" or "The Death of Adsense" or any variation threrof... they are really just trying to get your attention.

The only way Affiliate Marketing could go awway is if ALL products go away. As long as their is something to sell... there will be affiliates out there selling it.

I don't think Google is slapping sites with affiliate links, it is for adwords. I believe it will only hurt your quality score. But there are many ways around it. Have more content, hide your links, DMR, blank and disguise them.

Just have to be smarter...

Hi,
Just wanted to say that as far as the Google slap for a site with affiliate links might not be so far fetched. I had a simple one page site ranking on the first page of Google for a high converting affiliate offer and it stayed there for about 7 months and then... gone!

It would occasionally bounce around from page 1 to page 2 and then back to page 1, but all of a sudden it was nuked. So instead of panicking I just cloaked my links and sent it back out there and now it's climbing the ranks again.

Boy oh boy, what you have to do to make a living.

Cheers,
Nando
