Question: Type of links

Hello,
I am developing my first affiliate website and have one question regarding linking. Can anyone advise me what type of linking is better for the purpose of increasing conversion rates: the links that make a website to open in a new browser window and in the same browser window?

If you open a link in the same window, your site closes down and you lose your visitor when they click a link to see one of your opportunities. They may never come back and/or not know they can go back with the back arrow on their browser.

So you want the link to open in a new window so that your site stays open and when they finish looking at the link your site is still there.

Indeed, I second Pat's post. Unless your link is to another page in your site, always have it open in a new window. Don't risk losing your visitor!

I agree -links on your own site in same window and links to other sites in a new browser.

Yes that's right - I hadn't thought about links to pages on your own site. I would open those in the same window - but be sure you have a link on the page that says 'home' so that the person can easily go back to your main page.
