Inspiration from a Jobless and Homeless Woman
Share on:

A while back I came across an article that I thought I would share with everyone. It's about a jobless and homeless woman who started a blog to write about her situation and ended up landing a job with Elle.

Hope you'll find some inspiration for whatever battles you may be facing...

Jobless and homeless, blogger scores Elle job - TODAY Technology & Money

Take Care,

Hi Satya,

What kind of work do you want to do as a freelancer? Something in the IT field? There is a lot of demand for that type of work. My suggestion would be to get signed up with freelance sites and build up a portfolio.

You can read more about this option in this blog post: Freelance Work From Home | Work From Home Resources Blog.

You may even want to do some work for free in exchange for testimonials. Then use those testimonials in your ads and profiles to boost your credibility. That's how I got started.

Another option is to post in the "Warriors for Hire" thread in the main WF. This is where you can sell yourself and your expertise and describe what all services you can provide. I've gotten work this way. You could also try a WSO if you're an upgraded member.

Sorry to hear you lost your job. I wish you the best.
