If your site is optimized you will have the same keywords you are using in your articles and blogs in the content on your site. - for best results the keywords should be part of the title or topic of the article or blog and also be in the body a few times (average 5 times to a 400 word/1 page document) - the blogs should be signed with your name, anchor tag (hyperlinked keyword) and the hyperlinked URL of your site to create backlinks - debatable whether keyword in the meta tags has any real value - depends who you ask. (good place to keep track of keywords you are using there though)... There are other techniques such as using headline fonts for the keywords and/or bold fonts on the site - Those are the basics but sure there is more. If you haven't seen the 30 Days to Success training lately, you will see new instructions on adding pages to your site at the same time as hosting your blog on your domain, and building backlinks to multiple blog pages.
