Well, we're coming down to the wire on Steve's Blog Contest - only a few more days to go!

I've been assisting Steve with the counting and I have to say, I feel a little bit like Santa Claus: I've been making my list (of blog posts and comments) and I've been checking it twice to see which PIPSters have been naughty or nice.

There's a few naughty ones who need to make a few more blog posts and a few more comments. And there are several nice contestants who are seriously going for Santa Steve's prizes!

You are right GT, we only have 3 days left. The winners will be announced on the night of the 6th.

But this really isn't Steve's contest. A few minds went into creating it for PIPs members including the whole team and one silent but extremely helpful partner. That of course is Patricia. Without her help it wouldn't be here. I would have to say with out question that she is the most dedicated of anyone I know to the success of all PIPsters . If you win the prizes or not she deserves a big Thank You. We can't leave Stone Evans out of the thank you either.

I may have to figure out how to make a top to bottom scrolling marque for credits (NOT).

Jeff (houdy), thanks for another great post filled full of information. There is so much blogging information throughout this contest thread that anyone who reads it and applies it will be a winner.

You know what they say: "It aint over 'til it's over," so hang in there.

All contestants are winners from the start simply by the act of participating. Throughout this contest, Steve (and others) have emphasized that one of the main purposes of the contest is to encourage participants to do some of things that are important to business-building.

If you have participated at all (and you have, Ben), then you have been fulfilling this purpose and will enjoy some benefits and rewards that those who did not participate will not enjoy.

Hi all, I have finished my count and observations. And the winner is To Be Announced later. Have to wait for my co-conspirator, I mean administrator, to finish checking his list "twice'.

You are all a great bunch of people and dedicated to your home PIPs business. It shows in the effort each one of you have made. I would love to say it was hard to count but it's only numbers so it was easy. Actually a little too easy. :rolleyes: I do see a sweep going on. Kind of like an election we just had. But I will wait ever so impatiently.

So hang tight, a winner will be announced this evening. ( I hope I didn't promise a time :confused: )

I will make some observations. 1 person told me that this has helped him to discipline himself and commenting was becoming something natural instead of needing a big effort. It showed in his post and comments. A few of the contestants started off slow with posting. I decided to take a peek and noticed a few had not ever posted on any type of regular basis. Then by the end of the contest they were posting away in what looked to be a more relaxed mode. Others started off slowly commenting. But it changed after a week or so to the point that just a couple of blogs with comments by a few slow starters changed who I could see as one of the prize winners. Again it looked to come much more easily.

I think the general observation is clear. Blogging and blog commenting is not as hard as it may sound and with a little effort when you are first starting out it can be very easy. I happen to be one of those slow starters and at times not very consistent but I know how it works for me. Once I get started it gets easier and easier and I can sometimes write 3-4 blog post in one afternoon with time to spare.

The key to successful blogging is to just do it. It's not as hard as it sounds.

Now to wait for GT and to go to bed.

I would like to thank you for the opportunity to participate in this contest. You did an awesome job and I am sure there was a lot of sacrifice on your part in setting it up, monitoring and administering. A big thanks to your assistant, GT, and anyone else involved in the administration.

There will never be enough THANK YOUs to the prize contributors. What an awesome listing of prizes. It absolutely confirms in my mind that there is so many great hearts in the PIPS family. "APPLAUSE" to Ros, Houdy, Allen Lundy, Alan Mater, Doug and Stephen.

Thanks to Stone and Pat for allowing the contest to run. I was hoping for more competitors to participate. A lot of missed opportunity to learn a great deal from participation.

As I said, once the competition started, even if I didn't win a single prize, I felt like a big winner finding out how easy it is to blog and comment. It is all about goals, dedication and commitment. I have no problem blogging daily and commenting at least 10 per day thanks to the contest. Comments are usually the first thing I do in the morning and posting the last thing before shutting down.

Again, A big thanks to you, your administration, the awesome prize contributors and of course my competition. There has been a lot of friendships made in this small group.

I totally agree with you Peter. Anybody that did not learn from this experience truly lost out. I have bookmarked every blog in the list (including Steve's team). These are a the top of my list and will be visited first every day and then any I add thereafter will be rotated to complete my daily commitment of comments.

I have been Blessed with many friendships (including Penn State fans ) throughout this competition.
