How To Win :

It's simple. Comment on entered blogs, write blog posts, build backlinks and make your blog better.

The person who makes the most blog posts on their own blog and comments the most on entered blogs wins. It's easy; just comment and post as much as possible and win BIG. In the case of a tie we will be looking at blogs to see who has improved on them by adding widgets, photos and other items, plus we will be looking at who is building the most backlinks for their PIPs business.

Does it sound hard? It shouldn't. This is a big part of what it takes to build your business.

The Rules:

1. Enter your blog using your keywords in this thread. If you do not have a blog go to WordPress .org or see Wordpressmax.com to have one installed for you. Or simply see Day 12 in the 30-Day Training and use Blogger to build a new blog. Remember, you can easily win a super website listed above.

2. All Blog comments must be signed with your real name. Simply write your comment and type your first and last name at the bottom. This is called branding yourself and it is what you need to learn to do with everything online and off. If you use a "Pen Name" it is acceptable.

3. All blogs must have a Plug-In Profit Site banner predominantly displayed. If you do not know how to install one we can help; just ask. Remember, this contest is about building your PIPs business and this is one step in building it right.

To find your own personalized PIPs banners see your PIPs back office and click "Marketing" and scroll to the bottom of the marketing page. There you will find a link to all of your personal banners. These have your affiliate link inserted and are ready to send visitors to your sales page.

4. The first 50 people to sign up will be entered. If the 50 are not reached by the start date you can still enter after the launch.

5. All prizes are distributed by the sponsoring party. Once the winners are announced each sponsor above will contact you to award your prize.

6. There is no cash value awarded for the listed prizes and they cannot be exchanged for cash, so don't ask. All Prizes are as stated with the listed limitations and exclusions.

7. All decisions are final. In the event of a tie a decision will be made on the winner and it will be final. So if you think you should have won but didn't, just remember that all decisions are final.

Hello fellow PIPSters,

This blogging contest is an excellent way to bring search engine traffic (especially the Google Bot) to your blog and get faster backlinks to your websites.

If you are considering getting the most out of this contest, here are a few tips that can make your blogs stand out from the rest, increase Google searches of your site and get quick backlinks.

It takes time everyday, but, the benefits can be unbelievable.

I presume that the majority of Bloggers are all basically going to be doing blog posts on work at home, home based businesses, affiliate marketing etc.

Here are a few suggestions – suggestions ONLY – to help you.

Before you even make your first blog post….

a. Do a keyword search for keywords for your posts.

1. DO NOT use single or two work keywords. Search for 3 or 4 word keyword phrases so that you will have less competition in the search engines.

2. Affiliate Marketing is very popular (it has millions of searches daily) however, you may wish to use a keyword phrase such as ‘internet marketing affiliate programs” or something similar.

3. DO NOT put Adsense or banners on your blog posts for at least the FIRST WEEK.

4. By the end of the 1st week, your traffic should be increasing quite a lot,

NOW add your banners to the top and bottom of each post and add your Adsense code. Many of your posts should already be indexed.

b. Try and Identify 5 such keyword phrases and use those keywords as your categories.

1. So instead of using “affiliate marketing” as a category on the right/left side of your blog, you would use the complete keyword phrase ‘internet marketing affiliate programs”. Do this for each keyword phrase you are going to use.

c. Write approximately 60 posts of 150-225 words. That would be 12 posts for each of the 5 keyword phrases you have chosen. Just small posts, not full articles.

d. Post your submissions at the same time every single day. (If you make your posts at the same time, you can actually ‘train’ Google to come to your site in search of new content at a predetermined time – set by YOU)

e. Post 1 post every 30 minutes for a period of 4 hours for the 1st week of the contest.

f. PING the blog directories after each post. (Pinging more than every 30 minutes is not a good thing).

g. Post comments only on blogs that are have similar keywords that you are trying to get listed for.

h. After the 1st week, increase the size of your blog posts to say 300-400 words. Enter 1 new post every other day until the contest is completed.

i. DO NOT STOP POSTING, but, now you can submit to your blog larger posts if you wish and do it a minimum of one post a week.

Here is another very important item to consider when writing your blog posts and any articles you wish to submit.

KEYWORD DENSITY:

For many new to article and blog marketing, one very important item is having a keyword density of between 2% and 3% for the keyword or keyword phrase you are trying to get indexed for.

The easiest way to find out what your keyword density is:

1. Write your article or blog inserting your keyword phrase in a natural easy to read format.

2. Do a word count on your blog post/article when you have completed it.

3. Do a "search" and input the exact keyword phrase you are writing about.

Example: You just completed your blog post and it's 217 words in length.
You do your search for your keyword phrase - article submission techniques.

Your search reveals a total of 7 times you have used this phrase.

Divide 7 by 217 and you have your keyword density. In this case your density is - 3.2%

Do a spell check and post.

You should always have a MINIMUM of 2% and a MAXIMUM of approximately 3%, much more than 3% and you 'could' be penalized for keyword stuffing (spam).

When it comes to WordPress blogging and getting natural search engine traffic there are a few important factors; the way the blog is setup, the plugins used and most importantly the content.

First are the permalinks or the URL of the actual blog post. Using the category and the post title (or at least one) in the URL adds keywords to the URL.

Second is an SEO plugin that automatically adds your META title, keywords (or tags) and description to the post, and also rewrites the title of the post to add your post title BEFORE the site title. Having the site title first is important for the Google bots to see so each post looks different. If the title of the blog or site was first the Google bots think each post is very similar. The title is in the browser title bar on the very top of your browser above the address. Look at your Blogger blog individual posts to see the wrong way to do it!

Adding a good list of sites to ping in a plugin like Smart Update Pinger described by Allen above is also another aspect of creating backlinks that the search engines like to see. Just pinging these site doesn't necessarily create the backlinks but it does get your posts noticed on these sites and if someone is looking for content (or blog posts) tagged as yours is tagged they may like your post enough to do a trackback of it or link to it on their blog.

OK so now what is a "tag" right? A tag is like a keyword for your blog post. Adding two or three good, short but descriptive tags to your blog posts is important so the sites that your blog pings know what your last post was about. These tags are attached to the post automatically now in WordPress but using a WordPress tagging plugin called Simple Tags makes it easier to do when creating a new post.

And you probably want to know what a trackback is too right? Man you people want it all!!! A trackback is a link to a post on your on another blog. With WordPress these links or trackbacks automatically show up on your post as a comment. The trackback can be a made by the other blogger by placing a link to your blog post directly into the post he/she writes or in a special trackback area when creating the post.

Lastly and probably most importantly are your blog post titles. Make them short, descriptive and to the point. Think of how someone will be using Google to search for what they want and title your posts accordingly. Here is an example of a recent post I made on WordPressMax.com: Lets say Joe Blogger wants to learn how to Create A Custom WordPress Static Front Page and types that phrase into Google. Well about a week ago I did a post titled that and guess what? That blog post is only second to the main WordPress.org website. Even a little more broad search for just Create A Custom WordPress Page has that post above the fold on the first page of results.

There are other factors to consider like social bookmarking, becoming an "Authority Site", and creating interactivity for repeat traffic and more...But the whole point is that if there is only one thing you want to concentrate on for traffic it is blogging and blogging the right way can bring quick results, but you must post good content on a regular basis to keep your posts near the top of the search engines.

Don't worry about upgrading your site or it's appearance. That will only be used if there is a tie. Since most people don't have the time to blog everyday or comment it probably won't be a big thing. The main point is to post on your blog and comment as much as possible. It's really pretty simple and is great for building site page rank and drawing in visitors.

Hi Leon, I just commented on his blog. Whew I clicked submit it just went away but that is common with WP blogs. I am sure it is now waiting for his approval.

I don't know anything about not accepting your link. That's kind of odd. Hopefully he will see this and comment.

Hi Peter, that is the exact way to do it with WordPress Blogs, use your keywords in the name field and sign with your real name. As you know that will give you a good backlink. The reason I ask you to sign with your real name, or the name you use here, is to make it easy for me to figure out who is commenting. Without a signature with your name I wouldn't be able to keep track of who's who.

I have entered your blog above in the Contestant Area using the keywords you gave when you signed up for the contest. That is simply the way you posted your blog for inclusion, Work From Home Business Blog

For Blogger blogs I have been using the below as my signature;

Everyone but Mira listed their Blog using their preferred keywords. For Mira I went to her site and got the keywords off her "Page Source". This isn't real important for the contest but it does give each person another keyword backlink.

I think I figured it out Steve. I have a number of gmail accounts and if I am not using the correct one, it will be rejected. I was able to comment successfully last night.
