Hi All, I received an email from Mark Widawer and I am enclosing a portion of it and the link to his interpretation of the FTC Rules: "The new FTC Guidelines go into effect TOMORROW, December 1st, and in the event you haven't yet read them yet, or figured out how the new FTC guidelines will affect you and your business, then read my new blog post about it. FTC Guidelines - The Five Things You Must Know Maybe I'm a little late to the party, but I kind of thought -- maybe just like you did -- that the whole FTC thing would just blow over. Well, that's not likely to be the case. The new FTC guidelines are here to stay, and may actually have more of an effect on all our lives than we can imagine right now. I read through all the actual text and found the FIVE most important parts of the new FTC Guidelines " How does it affect us all especially the PIPs advertising page? Happy thinking, Dita |

I like the saying that goes something like 'when you tell the truth you don't need to worry about keeping your story straight. Be honest, don't make claims that are not verifiable. Simple. "The truth will set you free" (thanks for posting this though I am going to put it in our EZ Reference Tips thread so people can read it after this thread goes off page one). |

Hi Patricia, Thank you for your reply. Of course, I do not have any questions regarding the legitimacy of Stone's claims and the PIPs. All you have to do is check the various leaderboards. I too am advertising the PIPs program and as a newbie I have no great successes yet, understandably so. By promoting the PIPS site am I under the protective umbrella of the Stone's success and his legitimacy, because I am an affiliate? Just wondering Dita (PS had to change my username from ebizdame to ejullya, explained in the post on usernames) |

I'm just curious if Stone plans on changing his disclaimers and sales copy. Also, specifically the testimonials where it states, "results not typical." That statement is no longer good enough. Here are some additional resources that I posted on my blog. These are worth checking out, especially the interview that Jim Edwards did with the Assistant Deputy at The Federal Trade Commission: New FTC Regulations For Bloggers and Affiliate Marketers Things are definitely going to be changing for affiliate marketers. |
