Please add your Host Gator affiliate ID to your PIPS account
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Members,

Please login and add your Host Gator affiliate ID to your PIPS account here:

http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/account

Host Gator is the new hosting requirement for incoming PIPS members. This now makes it possible to sign up for PIPS for as little as 1 cent. See your PIPS affiliate link for details.

Also, Host Gator pays affiliates $50 - $125 for every signup you refer. I've been testing their program out for several months now in the background and it is working very well.

I will be steadily updating the PIPS training in response to this change in the PIPS hosting requirement in preparation for a very successful 2010 and beyond for our members.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the PIPS help desk here:

http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/helpdesk

Thank you,

Stone Evans

That is just the affiliate ID, how about switching to hostgator hosting? Should we switch our host4profit account to hostgator? I hope PIPS can make it easy for the members and help to transfer our site there, it really save my monthly running cost especially for newbie.

I love HostGator! I have two accounts with them and host numerous websites on those accounts without any major problems in the past couple years since I started with HG. As far as I am concerned this is a positive change for PIPS. However, I would like to know why you changed from H4P all of the sudden after so many years requiring them?

It was a cost consideration only.

Stone felt that having an inexpensive host would foster all member's ability to attract new business. I can tell you sales have spiked across the board.

Running neck and neck is the affiliate program compensation plan at HostGator being a more robust format. (One time $50 to $125 commissions vs. $10 per month) for all PIPS member/HostGator affiliates.

There is no necessity to change hosts, and the affiliate program is free for everyone including non-hosting account members.

I have no plans to leave Host4Profit for my own websites.

Are you referring to you changed your hosting company to hostgator? Or are you referring to affiliate with hostgator?

In this post, Stone is referring to affiliate. To become a affiliate is FOC, just login to PIPS members site (the place where you usually login for training), at the left corner, there is account, and under account there is hostgator affiliate ID, click the link join. After you joined by creating new ID, go back to the same place to update your affiliate ID.

For hosting company, it is different. Previously, you are using host4profit account to host your website, if you want to change to hostgator, you need to subscribe to hostgator first before closing your host4profit account as you need to backup your data to transfer to the new server, etc.

HostGator and Host4Profit uses different password too as they are different companies.

Hope that helps - Happy 2010!

Cool, I already have a HG account, all I want to know is there a smooth way to do a transition over to HG from H4P, I have no PIP signups right now, so can I switch my hosting account to carry my PIP website?

There is no need to change your hosting. The only change is that we require HostGator for new applictions only.

You can join the free HostGator affiliate program and should do so.

If you have a HostGator affiliate ID just login to your PIPS account profile and add it. Then your sales page will give you credit when your prospect signs up so you won’t miss any commissions. Pluginprofitsite.com/account
------------------------------------

Stone Evans took action to change the required host from Host4Profit to HostGator based entirely on the cost differential.
------------------------------------

We feel that the new very inexpensive hosting option will encourage sales of new memberships for all PIPS members and implement a profitable new compensation plan as another PIPS core income stream.
------------------------------------

There is no reason to switch your host but you are encouraged to join the free affiliate program. Only new members are required to use HostGator hosting.

HostGator Hosting is at 1-866-96gator - toll free - 24 hours

Hostgator - affiliates(AT)hostgator.com
Or log in to your cpanel and contact live chat or support

===========================================

As for switching hosts - you don't need to do that to belong to HostGator's affiliate program. Hostgator.com

#1 If you want to switch hosts, however, then go to your sales page and follow the directions to sign up for HostGator Hosting USING YOUR EXISTING PIPS DOMAIN NAME.

#2 Once they send the welcome letter with all the server information (username, password, IP address, DNS, master account name):

You will need to go to your domain name registrar and have them change the DNS (domain nameservers) to point to HostGator - right now they are pointed at Host4Profit. Refer to your HostGator welcome letter for your DNS settings.

Note - do not skip this step if your domain was registered ANYWHERE ELSE besides HostGator. You will absolutely not be able to see your site unless the DNS is set correctly - I can't do this for you.

#3 Ask HostGator to provide you with their free service to transfer your files from your existing host.

Note: OR if you want to do this yourself, you
can upload the files to HostGator via FTP, or copy and paste the files into the public_html folder named exactly the same as they are named at Host4Profit. (all lower-case file names)

You might want to start with using the back-up module on your Host4Profit host server/WebPanel Main Menu.

HostGator Vs Host4Profit?!
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hi there,

I just thought I might let Pipsters know this if you haven't already.

We all know that Stone has just switched to Hostgator and I think it is a good idea. Hostgator provides cheaper domains and additional accounts for free.

I was in the process of switching from Host4Profit when I was told just as an FYI that "Just an FYI, we are changing our business model to a flat rate of $11.95 for unlimited domains. I adjusted your account for this. We
will be releasing new PLR content each month, among other new and
exciting features" & You can add additional accounts in your WEBePanel, just ignore the $5.00 fee that is listed. We are in the process of updating our system to properly reflect no fee"

So if you are considering moving to Hostgator or staying with Host4profit this info may be of use to you.

Competition isn't it great!

One of the key benefits of Hostgator is that they pay $50 to $125 commissions upfront depending on your number of sales. Even if your prospects sign up for the $4.95 a month plan they still pay those commissions.

I have been promoting Hostgator since 2006 and they always pay timely and they even pay by Paypal if you want.

They also have first class support and the most up to date technology.

Re: HostGator Vs Host4Profit?!

I am happy to hear about the changes at Host4Profit - if only they would have reduced their fee structure before, but they just wouldn't consider it, except in some individual cases toward the end which weren't advertised.

I have no plans to leave them in any case...

I am also happy about the change to HostGator only because it has ramped up PIPS sales quite a bit with a cheaper host.

Setting up new accounts is way more difficult for many reasons because we do not have the same level of communication that we had with Host4Profit (for security reasons). I have several applications 'pending' further information all the time - when I can't login with the information the customer provides. What a management mess.

Worst is that many do not respond to my requests for the correct information - I send a message 3 or 4 times over a week or two. This means they may have HostGator, but never get a PIPS site. Or they throw up their hands and may even cancel HostGator - I have no idea where they disappear to.

As for commissions - I hope the 60 day hold will not surprise a lot of people - if someone quits before the 2nd billing, there is no commission paid to the sponsor. Good gamble for $50 vs. $10 though...

I personally prefer HostGator over Host4Profit.

I am paying the same monthly as I was paying with Host4Profit in 2005, but, I now have unlimited domains, unlimited sub-domains, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited MySQL Databases, - basically UNLIMITED EVERYTHING.

And I haven't yet had an issue with their customer support. Doesn't mean there aren't issues, but, so far (Knock on wood) I haven't had any.

I am also planning to transfer to Hostgator next month. Still have some queries on transfer of hosting to solve. How to disable databases and create A record in Host4Profit? Even Hostgator said they will take care the whole transfer process, but there are still many things we need to do on our own.

Well I haven't had any problems so far and I'm glad they have brought their prices down to reflect market expectations. Whether anyone chooses to stay or move is entirely a personal business decision.

I recently made the switch and it was painless. All my sites are run on the WordPress format and HostGator offers cpanel which makes adding domains and sub-domains a breeze.

Once I canceled my account H4P sent me a conformation email that my account had been closed. They also mentioned they now have a sister site with a competitive price and cpanel. Had I had known this I would stayed but now it seems they were just trying to soak as much money as they could hoping I would not change.

I still use Host4Profit and am not too sure why Stone has decided to use HostGator.

I will always use H4P even though I might be paying a little more money per month for hosting.

I agree with Tal...

H4P has been fantastic for me! Yes, you pay a little more but the support that you get when you have a problem is 2nd to none!

Well, they're not as good as the PIPS help desk (Pat) but for a hosting company they got my vote!

Hi,

Like most PIPSters I started off with Host4Profit and had no complaints at all. My decision to move to Hostgator was motivated purely from the point of view that I wanted mutiiple sites in future and H4P charged extra.

As Pat has said, it's a pity they didn't do this sooner when we all wanted them to. In summary I would say they are both very good and have good support so take your pick.

hiya,

But if you end up switching, don't you lose most of your recurring commission as posted awhile back ? I rather be getting $10 per customer per month than a one time finder fee !

and where did you get he info from, I havent seen anything ?

Thanks

Hello,

I was just wondering if we could put this in the sticky or make some new sticky about it.

I do not log on here all the time and I feel that I am missing out on a lot of the new updates to the sites and changes.

Whats a wordpress card for instance ?

Is the reason my monthly recurring check is dwindling because of everyone changing to hostgator ? I worked kinda hard for that !

Thanks

Re: HostGator Vs Host4Profit?!

If you are a Host4Profit hosting customer you get $10 per month per customer you sign up, as long as your downline remains a hosting customer.

As a non-hosting affiliate of Host4Profit Resellers

IF you were a hosting customer for minimum of 3 billing cycles before you cancel the hosting you can still earn 25% commissions as a reseller - $2.50 per month

IF you were not a hosting customer for 3 cycles you can't make commissions from Resellers once you leave hosting.

This is the latest I know of - not sure if they changed this along with the cheaper hosting options.

Best to ask them at resellers(at)host4profit.net to be sure...

The good part about HostGator is YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A HOSTING CUSTOMER TO BE AN AFFILIATE.

So even if you do not switch hosts, please login to your PIPS account profile and click 'join' next to HostGator - join their FREE affiliate program and update your profile with your affiliate ID - this way you won't miss any commissions from the PIPS sales page.

This was a sticky for a while, but is on it's way down.

It is important to keep up with the announcements and as well might be a good idea to check out the training every month or two as things are added all the time.

"Dwindling" - Not that many are changing from Host4Profit - however no new applicants have the option to join Host4Profit as we now require HostGator.

Again as I said in another thread you do not need to be a HostGator hosting account customer to participate in their free affiliate program, so please go to your PIPS account profile and click 'join' next to HostGator and then update your profile with your affiliate ID so you do not miss any commissions.

I changed to HostGator after one month of hosting service with Host4Profit.

But I am more comfortable with HostGator and realize one thing:

HostGator:
- A little bit hard to understand if you are new
- More functions and sponsored programs
- Neat design as they arranged the icons in groups
- More colorful, vivid graphics therefore is very eye-catching
- Helpdesk: Live support is so-so

Host4Profit:
- Simple and Straightforward
- Dull icons
- Helpdesk is very nice and responsive

I'm a new member of PIPS (less than a month). I was wondering why there is no link on my webpage promoting HostGator. Since that is who we are using now for hosting. I am a member of their affiliate program

It is on the sales page - because anybody who signs up for PIPS is required to set up a HostGator account. (NEW applicants only)

We have not promoted hosting from the personal websites by default for a long time. You are free of course to add anything to your website that you prefer.

I have been a host4profits customer almost a decade ago until I was sent, or ordered, for tour-of-duty to S. Korea. When I got back I found their personalities were stil the same... kind, courteous and respectful.

Host4Profits is the bomb!!!
... it's not all about how much money one can make (affiliate), domain/hosting cost differences or any of that. Switching just for a fist full of dollars in changes ain't even worth it. What's worth it, and in non-monetary terms, is their quick support response and family friendly atmosphere service.

Fact is you'll still have a tough time getting sign-ups no matter what you're selling.

Thanks Steve for your excellent service.. you guys excell!

Why should anyone call you ignorant? What then is the purpose of this forum if not to clear up "grey areas". At any rate, we were all ignorant about one thing or the other at various times. We even all still remain ignorant of one thing or the other. Learning is ad infinitum. To make good progress, shove out that impression and ask whatever you will.

PIPS account is the record of your affiliate ID's maintained by the PIPS system, which once updated in the relevant place within your 30 days training manual, automatically updates your website such that any click on the relevant program links or images will reflect your updated ID and thereby give you credit for any prospect you recruit. If not updated, then credit for any prospect you recruit rolls over to your sponsor and therefore you make no commissions.

Hope that clarifies it?

If you access your 30 days training manual and look at the links on the far left, you will see the link to "Account" right under the "Help Desk" link, which when clicked will take you to the page titled "Plug In Profit Site Account Details".

Here is the "account" referred to and you will see all your ID's for all the programs on your website. Where you have not subscribed for a particular program, then you will see your sponsor's ID there which implies commissions on any prospect you recruit for that program goes to your sponsor.
