As far as I know you can remain with H4P as long as you want. You don't have to switch. It's just no longer part of PIPS.

Alan,
Have you transfer your PIPS website to Hostgator? I am planning to transfer it but do not know where to proceed. I hope Stone can help us with the transfer.

Everyone is encouraged to join the free HostGator affiliate program so that you can make commissions on your PIPS sales page.

You do not need to be a hosting customer of HostGator to be an affiliate.

There is no reason to leave Host4Profit Hosting or Resellers (Warriors) unless you just want to.

Contact the PIPS Helpdesk about this if so.

I can give you only the default PIPS site (latest version) if you move to HostGator.

If you have blogs hosted on your domain or any custom design on your Host4Profit site, you need to ask HostGator to give you the free file transfer they promise. (this would have to be before you shut down the Host4Profit hosting account.) if not you can request a back up from Host4Profit (no promises).

p.s Conversely you can promote Host4Profit from your website and/or HostGator if you want to. We do not include hosting on any new PIPS site, and except on the sales page there is no PIPS ad for hosting anymore (for a while now).

If you want to add hosting to your personal website that would be considered custom design and you usually need to do that yourself.

With Patricia's help, I was able to reset my index.html to default. The old transferred index.html seems to be my blog post's index.html.

Yes I have. Been switched over for at least 5 months now, if not more. HG can help you with the move. Also see what Pat wrote above.

Hi,

I agree with Alan and Pat, the transfer is pretty easy. I was with Host4Profit for some time and had absolutely no complaints with them as a host.

I moved over to Hostgator before Stone switched and that was entirely because I wanted to host multiple sites and that is much cheaper with Hostgator,

regards,

Mal.

p.s best wishes to all members for 2010
