HAPPY NEW YEAR to Patricia and all who read this!

Thanks, Patricia, for the fiddle music. A local group in our little town sponsors an annual fiddle contest — a weekend event late in August — that attracts fiddlers and fans from several provinces. Fiddlers of all ages participate, from five years old to 65 and beyond.

Hey, that Grandfather's clock in the Cajun Fiddle video? We have one that I think is identical to it! A few years before he died, my wife's father bought a clock like that in kit form, then traced every piece, cut new pieces in his home workshop, bought the clockworks from a clock shop and built about four or five replicas, one of which we received. Cool.

Hey, Mal!

I'm still about five hours away from the New Year here in northern Alberta! You're way ahead of me. I'm just about to close my computer and head upstairs to begin the evening's celebrations with my dear wife. Happy New Year!

GT :)

Got 5 hours and 20 minutes to go here!

We are having a "Blue Moon" (second full moon in one month) - pretty rare for New Years Eve also.

Partiial Eclipse too!

We are flooded with an abundance of sales so I will be working right up to the bell!

Have fun!
Be safe!

Happy New Year!

lol ... Looks like you're covering all the bases with the musical styles,
Patricia! It's great!

Regarding the dulcimer vid, my spouse and I were visiting the Big City a
couple of years ago and while getting lost in a major mall we happened
upon a dulcimer musician - such beautiful music! We listened for a long
time, then bought one of his CDs!

It's an acquired taste. I performed with a haight ashbury tribe/band called 'Amplified Ohm' and there was this little guy who looked like One of Snow Whites 7 Dwarfs playing dulcimer - he used to be considered part of the group as he always 'jammed' with us. It really added a nice element to the atmosphere including for dance with a few drums, electricguitar, vibraphone, autoharp, gongs, tamborine - and any other instrument that showed up for that performance!
