There are various ways of marketing online but the affiliate marketing is the best place to start as a beginner. It requires little or no money to start. My thought on this would be - TAKE YOUR TIME. Find tons of books to read for FREE. Learn the basics of email marketing, blogging, copywriting, html and as much as you can absorb in the shortest, yet most productive timeframe possible. Once you have an idea of what internet marketing is, take a little more time and do some research on the area that you are interested in. Start your business for as little as you can until you begin to really understand online marketing. Build a blog, learn on a free platform. Don't buy every next best product. And did I mention, take your time? There is a ton of free informaton online for you to locate, download and learn from - BEFORE you open up your bank account or credit cards. Good luck Allen |

What 30 day challenge? The PlugInProfitSite 30 Days to Success training is online only and is frequently updated by Stone Evans ONLINE. There is no PDF for 30 Days to Sucess (there may have been long ago) - ...there is a free PIPS PDF called 'Dotcomology' but it is different from the 30 Days to Success training. There is no video for PIPS 30 Days to Success - however there is a video called 'Newbie Training Videos' that is free to our members. ... but thanks all the same for your kind words. |

So you want to get started with Internet marketing, but like most people do you are simply confused. Let me put your mind at ease. The source of this confusion is simple: information overload. I second this suggestion in a HUGE way! Particularly for a NEW NEW beginner. It starts at the very beginning and helps you understand the entire "concept" while showing you each step to take. One thing most people for get is to start a business that you like find your the niche that's works for you if you don't then you might give up. People turn hobby's into money. There is a lot of information out there that will be helpful to a pips program like SFI might be one program you could look into. Wish you Luck!!!

Hi Welcome to IM. I just like to add: educate your self on IM. And yes surrounded by mentors would cut off much time of your learning curve. Easy way to star would be affiliate marketing and niche marketing. There are many video training at the WSO section. One that I follow, Michael's "Niche Masterplan". You can try that or any other. While I think that there is some great advice in this thread, I also think you should try narrow your focus. There is a definite trap to get bogged down with information overload as there is tons of material you can go through. I would also try set some objectives as soon as possible / when you feel you have enough information as to what you would like to achieve. Also beware of not just learning for the sake of learning without doing - there is no substitute for implementation! |

Don't waste your time reading tons of ebooks as most of them are rehashed garbage. In other words you will hear the most of the same things over and over. Not to mention that every person is going to have their own view and tell you what works and what doesn't. Ebook guru Bob will tell you to do A and not B while ebook guru Larry will tell you A doesn't work and you have to do B and C. While they may all seem credible, you'll just end up confused. Confusion leads to inaction (been there, done that). Here is what has worked for me to get me going. Travis Sago aka The Bum Marketer (Bum Marketing Method - Free Traffic Tips) provides great advice to get you going without spending any money. He focuses on getting you started with article marketing. The 30 Day Challenge by Ed Dale gives you some step by step daily actions to take to make money. Start with those first and then move on from there. The main thing to do is start doing. You could spend years learning but the best learning is by doing. If you learn from Travis and Ed you will learn what you need to start making money. Just do some simple daily tasks and move on from there. Then as you are making money you can move on to learning email lists, html, creating your own product, etc. One extremely important thing to remember. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and don't wait for something to be perfect or "just right". What happens is nothing. Nothing gets sold and money isn't made (again, been there, done that). You learn by doing so learn from any mistakes and correct them as you go. Hope this helps! Good luck and go make some money! |

Hello, I too am new than new, greener than green. Thank you for these posts. It's the start I was looking for, some footing. I've been toying around with CJ on a blog without much success, some adsense on a couple older sites with the about the same results. I am pretty comfortable on Wordpress, basic site building, Photoshop but I'm getting killed on the marketing end. Hi TheOldMan All the above is great. The problem I had when starting out was sifting through all the information I got. Until I identified what I wanted to do and then the other hurdle was figuring out how to actually do it. There are various aspects of Internet Marketing. There is: Adsense Affiliate Marketing CPA Marketing Ebay Multilevel Marketing/Network Marketing There are others, but these are generally the main ones. If I had to do it all over again from scratch. I would first set clear goals that I needed to accomplish longterm. Then research each market individually, what it entailed and then match it to my skills. I would then look for someone who is experiencing success within the chosen industry as my mentor to assist me in putting together a marketing strategy (Promotion vehicles/ Traffic Strategy) to help me achieve the success I desire. |

There are two ways to go: 1. Slow but free 2. Fast but investment needed So its up to you which one you choose. In slow you can make money through SEO or networking but SEO has huge learning curve In Fast there is ppc pay per click where you pay the advertiser for click. In both cases you can promote other people products and get commission. I put it in easy and simple way. But you can very easily find a lot of info on google for free. |

Hi all, I haven't been back in here for awhile unfortunately, my excuse- I've been busy... Some of you recommended the "30 Day Challenge" and "Bum Marketing" and I went for it and that's where I've been. I'm a little over a week in on 30 Day and it's really great- to those who recommended it, thanks. It is good stuff. Bum marketing is too but I've really only so many hours in a day. For anyone who is new I'd say 30 day challenge is boot camp. I don't know anything about PIP, sounds interesting but will have to wait. Anyway, back to boot camp! Thanks all for the help. A few points: - The only early investment necessary is a domain name and hosting. Use caution for any expense beyond that. You should definitely never pay to join an affiliate program. - Always retain a level of skepticism over the words of forum posters with a "make money online" link in their sig. Their M.O. is to sound smart in their posts to make you think "This guy knows his stuff, I better click his sig and buy his product!" If that isn't enough, these people are generally struggling webmasters who aren't really qualified to be giving advice to much of anyone. Most forums have a lot of these individuals, so you'll have to learn to deal with them. Don't let them burn you. - Don't buy into the concept of making easy money online. I once worked for 3 days straight on the hour. Anyone who thinks they can sit down and work for 1 hour a day is mistaken. - Beware of affiliate programs that have a lot in common with pyramid schemes. Make sure there is a legit product rather than just selling entry into the pyramid. One of the more common schemes is for them to charge you monthly for hosting, then you try to sell someone else on the "money making opportunity" (with hosting) and they in turn have to sell the same to someone else. There is essentially no product here. |

It's true. Your going to recieve information overload, so what you need to do is latch on to someone who is going to show the the right way of doing it, so your not dowloading everything, getting 500 emails daily, joing all the coaches that email you and you can't focus on their teaching because you don't remember what they're suppossed to be teaching you. My tips for starting an internet marketing career: 1. Have a Mindset of Abundance - the single most important point to be borne in mind to begin with. 2. Try to gain good knowledge on the internet marketing domain, you can find many free ebooks and materials - very important to develop your marketing knowledge. 3. Hi and welcome. Mostly I would take my time in making large purchases. Try not to commit to any one big affiliate training deal until you've really researched who the people are that are making the offers. They all sound great most of the time. So keep notes and thumb through here as much as possible. Take notice from the guys and gals with lots of post and have been around good luck |

My number one advice is DO NOT SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON ONE on ONE COACHING at the beginning. Since you don't know what you are doing at first, people can see you coming! You will be an easy mark for scamers! Get your feet wet, read everything you can, listen, learn and do not get caught up in buying one program, then another, then another. When you buy something, learn it. Put it to use. If it doesn't work out for you, find something else, only then. Hope this helps. I wish I knew this advise from the start. Welcome. To me you will need to look around this forum. There are some great tools here and most of them are free. Things to learn. Yours basic costs. Hosting, auotresponder. Simple stuff. ways to make money. There are a ton. Traffic. market research. squeeze page. your niche. Look around the forum as it is really well laid out and there are a ton of awesome info products here. |

1. Apply or register affiliate program 2. Target your niche 3. Promote products from the affiliate program to niche 4. Get traffic to boost up your sales Besides, there are many seminars available and you would definitely learn a lot from seminars. | |
