Backing up my wordpress Blog

Wordpress has a new uptodate 2.9, but for security reasons one is asked to back up the existing files, just in case. I have been trying to do that for my blog, to find that the blog is not cleary identify in the database of my server localhost ; What can i do to solve the issue? any suggestion..?

This is a plugin that will backup your WordPress Database. You can email it to your email address or download it to your computer.

I would suggest using a plugin as well but if you want to do it manually I have a guide on my site here: Backup WordPress Database
