Now I am REALLY confused!
Share on:

I have been having major problems in the last week with PM not being received, or saved in my PM sent box, and with posts not being posted. I just sent a 'test' post in another thread and saw a not in place of my sig. The note instructed me to read the forum rules and said PIPs links were not allowed.

So, I'm really confused! I thought the rules were about not posting links to affiliate sites.............and I thought my PIPS site was MY site, not an affiliate site.

I did send a help desk note about my missing PMs - one missing note was a really indepth PM that the sender can't re-produce.....anyway. I didn't find the response helpful in the least as I was simply informed the only person that can remove emails/post is myself or a moderator. Doesn't address where the missing PMs or posts are.

Anyone else experiencing a similar thing?

HI Ruth -

First of all let me say it wasn't me -

The forum Moderators do sometimes get into this. All I will say is I have written to the helpdesk and to Allen and Stone about this AGAIN.

It comes up every so often and I need to clarify (about the signatures) -

There is a Forum rule about duplicated sites - that is besides affiliate links/programs -

In so far as we have our member support forum in the Warrior Forum I guess that is why Allen (the owner) usually says don't worry about it - (and since they are legally registered domain names for our member's own websites)

I have never heard of them deleting PMS - however there is a new rule that if you do not upgrade to War Room membership you do have a limit on how many PMs can be stored and I am not sure but I think it is 10?

So that may be what happened to that. Your friend would have a copy in their "Sent Items" - If this is the issue you can delete 9 stored PMs and have them resend it.

I will post here when I hear back from 'the powers that be' about the signatures.

Pat

Thanks Patricia.
Unfortunately the warrior that sent me the long post had cleaned out his PMs by the time I was able o get back to him 3 days later. In the meantime I was waiting for him to respond to my initial long post and had also deleted my own PM to make space as I was trying to figure out what was going on. The weird thing is, after I sent a post to a thread I would immediately see it in the thread. Later, when I went to check the thread and see if I had responses I found my posts missing. I found the help desk person I communicated with both uninterested, dismissive and unhelpful. The first time that's happened!

Yes, that is strange Ruth - by the way the Warrior Forum Helpdesk is not related to the PIPS Helpdesk which is not working today (by the way)!

Threads/posts do get deleted if a Mod is 'on your case' - so that may be related to the signature issue - it also may be not - sometimes there is a glitch and I have had stuff disappear into thin air myself.

Sorry for this and the signature issue - In fact I won't go into how upset this gets me and the fact I have to fight this battle yearly for about 5 years. I/We usually win but you '...never know which way the wind blows' - so on a case by case basis we will see what happens this year.
