Is PIPS Taking Your Prospects? (of course not)
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hey fellow networkers,

Gilbert here.

I just have a quick question. I thought about joining the pips program and here is what I found.

I signed up through Ewen Chia's PIPS website and noticed all his affiliate links go to his affiliate sites, so I decided to join Stone Evans email course on the top of the website.

This is what I can see just by his first email.

If you download his Dotcomology PDF report you will get Stone Evans links in that PDF. I clicked on several links in that PDF and they go to Stone Evans PIPS website, and all the links on the PIPS website promote Stone Evans affiliate links.

I have seen tons and tons of programs online and have been involved with internet marketing for two years now, and I just want to know if there is some kind of problem with the way this is run.

If I signed up to the PIPS website through the Dotcomology PDF then I would be signing up under Stone Evans which would not give Ewen Chia the credit for marketing his own website unless I signed up to his programs the first time I landed on his website.

Here is the problem for most newbies.

They don't join programs the first time they see something.

It takes a few times to see the website.

So IF myself or someone else clicked on a link in the PDF, then we would be signing up under Stone Evans.

I haven't even got his whole course yet, but if he is promoting his links in the PDF report, I would NOT join this program.

I don't market for other people to get the credit.

Is there anyone who can respond to this?

Hi Gilbert,

I can almost guarantee you will be getting at least one more response from Patricia. She is the keep of the PIPS Forum.

To begin with, you should NOT be coming into a PIPS FORUM to bash a product you know absolutely nothing about.

You may have some time as a marketer, it's hard to say. You Don't have enough posts to be considered knowledgeable, nor does your 'review' appear credible... at least in MY opinion.

Go back and look at the "links" you are talking about that ALL go to Stone Evans products.

I'd be willing to take a guess that they have an affiliate link at the end of each URL. normally a 1 - 5 number digit.

MY affiliate link is 10074, and if someone were to download Dotcomology from one of my sites that it may reside on, the links they click would take them to Stone Evans Products and Services - that is a fact... but, I GET THE CREDIT as his affiliate.

Take another look at Dotcomology from Ewan Chia. Do all the links end in "0"? If they don't then they are affiliate links for Ewen Chia.

I'm not sure if you can or will be banned from the PIPS forum, however, one of the rules in the Warrior Forum is and has been for a long time - Don't bash something you know nothing about.

In the future, I would suggest asking questions - NOT making statements, especially inflammatory statements about a program that you know absolutely nothing about.

My 2 cents.

Hello Gilbert,

Every member of this program receives a BRANDED copy of Dotcomology installed on their free website - In case you don't know BRANDED means with THEIR OWN AFFILIATE ID encoded in all the links in the book.

You have downloaded either Stone or Ewen's BRANDED copy and that is why you see either of their links. Stone is an affiliate marketer and so is Ewen one of Stone's affiliates and either of them having their own marketing tools is quite legitimate.

So - our members are promoting THEIR OWN AFFILIATE LINKS in THEIR BRANDED COPY of Dotcomology.

Now as far as the newsletter - on the personal websites there are two opt-in forms with subscribers going directly to the member's autoresponder campaign.

On the sales page, there are two opt-in forms - one going directly to the member's list - "Demo Newsletter". The other one, the 'Mini Course' is sent by Stone Evans ON BEHALF OF THE MEMBER. That means that while the opt-ins go to his list, the course emails are all embedded with the MEMBER'S AFFILIATE LINKS.

So since Stone obviously has some techniques that are more likely to win prospects who have not yet made a decision to join PIPS, he might be able to help the MEMBER get a sign up for the program.

If they click ANY LINK in the 'Mini Course' and join ANY of the programs in the PIPS suite of programs, the MEMBER gets the commission. NOT Stone.

Your assumptions are incorrect.

If someone does not choose to join one of the optional affiliate programs in our suite of programs, they are instructed to use their sponsor's ID for that field on their application.* If they do not follow the directions, then we have to use a default ID (Stone's).

Later if the member decides to participate in those programs, they can easily access their PIPS account profile and replace the ID with their own. This automatically updates the website and the sales page.

*The reason that we need a valid, working ID for every field is to protect you from scaring off one of your prospects when they click an invalid link and receive an error message. This would say, nobody is home here, the site is malfunctioning.

Excellent reply Patricia.

Allan, when reading this, I saw a question, not product bashing. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the replies Allen and Patrician!

I am NOT bashing the PIPS program. Like I said, I was looking at it because I think it looks really good. I've been looking for something that I could join that promotes several streams on income and has a good reputation as there is a lot of junk programs on the internet. When I saw the PIPS program, it looked like something that I could do.

All I'm saying is that the links in the PDF took me to Stone Evans PIPS site and all the links on the site are his affiliate links.

I have never said anything bad about the program at all and I still think it's a good program.

I just simply asked a simple question.

Anyways, Thanks again for the quick replies!

Gilbert

Gilbert,

What you are saying is this...

1. You went to the Plug-in Profit Site and it was Ewin referral link...

2. When on the affiliate site, you joined the email course...

3. When you got an email you downloaded the Dotcomology ebook and within that ebook were all of Stones affiliate links.

That is maybe something to look into, because I'll agree with you that people won't join the first time because they are always looking for more info.

EDIT: I just signed up from my affiliate link and in the first email I got Dotcomology and inside were all my affiliate links. Therefore, if anyone joins on your affiliate site, they will be directed to the PIPS site with the referrals links.

Have a great day,

Bill Shultz

Gilbert and ALL,

I have taken another look and re-read your initial post Gilbert, and I totally misread or misunderstood.

I publicly and officially apologize to your for my response.

PIPS is the program that got me into Internet and Affiliate Marketing. While it is not my primary means of income, it was my first real venture into the online world as a marketer.

I believe that it's one of the best programs available on the internet for someone desiring to start a new business or career online.

My misinterpretation of your initial and very valid post triggered in me a little anger because as I said, one shouldn't talk about something one knows nothing about.

PIPS and the men and women in this Forum are what has kept me going and has taught me what I know about online marketing.

If you haven't gotten involved yet, come on in, the waters fine. Plus, you won't find a better group of people to toss out your questions to. Even those that have difficulty comprehending a simple question (like me). Ü

hehehe - poor Allen you caught the hyper-vigilant war monger virus from me.

There are trolls who push your buttons, and they do tend to really make those who know the truth pushed out of shape. You know what? They are going to get their post deleted and then banned if they come back again singing the same song.

- so Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition, we will sweep them out quietly. No use subjecting anyone to a hostile environment.

Thank you again very much for being a true Warrior! I knew where you were coming from and I do appreciate you and Bill S taking up the sword so that I can act civilized!

... but yeh poor Gilbert I think he didn't mean to bash anybody, he just kind of phrased some things 'funny'.

What about with the new Plug-In Profit Site? The one that comes with a lifetime free hosting with Plug-In Profit Site Domains (Just Host).. I noticed, when I view the page source of my PIPS sales page, the autoresponder for the home business mini-course (the first opt-in form at the top of the long page) is now set to Stone's Aweber account and no longer with my GetResponse account?

Try look at yours...

Look - and let this be the last pass on this.

WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR PIPS YOU GET A BRANDED COPY OF DOTCOMOLOGY ON YOUR WEBSITE.

IT HAS YOUR LINKS FOR WHATEVER PROGRAMS YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN.

YOU SHOULD NOT BE GIVING ANYONE STONE OR EWEN'S COPY OF DOTCOMOLOGY BUT USING YOUR OWN BRANDED COPY.

WE ADVISE YOU TO USE YOUR SPONSOR'S IDS FOR ANY PROGRAM YOU ARE NOT PARTICIPATING IN - THIS IS BECAUSE YOUR VISITORS MAY GET SCARED AWAY WHEN YOUR INVALID IDs GENERATE AN ERROR MESSAGE. (ONLY IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THIS DIRECTION DO WE THEN USE THE DEFAULT ID WHICH IS STONE'S, FOR PROGRAMS YOU ARE NOT PARTICIPATING IN).

YOU HAVE THREE WEB FORMS THAT GO DIRECTLY TO YOUR GETRESPONSE ACCOUNT/LIST. TWO ARE ON YOUR WEBSITE AND ONE IS ON THE SALES PAGE. (DEMO NEWSLETTER)

THE SALES PAGE MINI-COURSE IS SENT BY STONE EVANS ON YOUR BEHALF - THAT IS - IT HAS YOUR AFFILIATE IDs IN IT - THAT MEANS ALTHOUGH IT IS SENT BY STONE FROM AWEBER, ANY SALES COMMISSIONS ARE YOURS. THIS IS INTENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T MADE A DECISION TO JOIN PIPS YET AND USES STONE'S REPUTATION TO HELP TO CONVINCE THEM - AFTER ALL THEY PROBABLY NEVER HEARD OF YOU.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS THEN DON'T PROMOTE YOUR SALES PAGE.

(THIS LAST SENTENCE IS STONE'S EXACT WORDS ON THIS SUBJECT).

AS WITH ALL THE CONSIDERABLE RESOURCES THAT STONE PROVIDES TO YOU FREE OF CHARGE YOU SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR HIS HELP.
