Last night my blog got hacked. I just published a post sharing with others how it happened and how you can do your part before it happens to you. Remember since it happened to me, it could happen to you too. Backup your blog. That's the first step. Well find out if I survived it and if H4P (your host as well) helped me in anyway.

My blog vanished and I just found out couple days ago but my server recovered it.

Maybe it was a hacker not sure though.

That sucks, I did not know such a thing could happen, I have never had a blog hacked and hope to never have to experience that.

Hi,
Thanks to everyone who posted or read my post. I know it's shocking and if it's something I did inadvertently that triggered this, I couldn't tell and don't wish to probe into finding that out. Anyway I still think the threaded comment plugin is very good but although for the time being I'll shy away from it (once bitten....) the good news is that threaded comments will be included in the next WP upgrade so I can wait. Thanks for everyone who showed your concern but I can assure you that I survived this incident and my blog is up and running with nothing lost except for a few comments as the daily database backup I had was 12 hours behind the hack time (note that the wp database backup plugin also offers hourly backly). For those who have not started backup, please do it soon.
