Requesting help for Autoresponder Setup
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hello Warrior Community,

I am having a frustration with my PIPS autoresponder process. When prospects are sent to my PIPS website, they are immediately sent to the PluginBonus page of my website which says "Thanks for subscribing to our newsletter". The problem is that they haven't subscribed yet because they need to respond to the opt in email from Get Response.

I've generated 12 subscribers but none of them have completed the opt in process by clicking the verification email because (I assume) they think they are already subscribed. Very frustrating since they were generated through paid advertising.

What I would like to happen is, instead of the PlugInBonus page popping up right after they submit their name and email, their should be a page that tells them to check their email (and their spam folder). There is nothing on my autoresponder page that sends them to the PluginBonus page so it must be built into the website.

Thanks for your help,
Dottie B
Since I'm new to the forum I can't post my website URL. The domain name is workingathomeforcash dot com

Unless you have clicked not to send the confirmation message, they do get 1. a screen saying thanks 2. get the email to confirm -

There should be a pluginthanks.html and then pluginbonus.html although at one point Stone made them the same for some reason.

Please contact the helpdesk with your Getresponse username and password and your hosting account UN/PW so I can take a look at this.

Thanks Patrician,

I'll do that right away. I sure hate losing the leads I'm paying for.

Hi Pat and Dottie,
I had the same problem with one of my affiliates.
The Autoresponder was set to go directly to his bonus page, I fixed the problem by edit the link back to the pluginthanks page.

Hi Patrician and Tanny,

I haven't had much luck with the help desk yet. I finally got an email that I had a response to my ticket but couldn't log in to see it. It didn't recognize the ticket number I was given. I've submitted a plea for help again.

I'm continuing to generate sign ups with my paid advertising - 18 to date but none of them has confirmed because they aren't getting the right page....the one that tells them to click on the link in their email. It's very frustrating.

Tanny - thanks for your suggestion but I can't figure out where the link is coming from that sends them to the pluginbonus page so I can change it. I didn't enter it in the autoresponder so it must be set up in the website. I don't seem to have access to the html of the website so I can't change it.

Thanks,
DottieB

Actually Dottie - I responded to the ticket and told you that I tested your account and that I do get the confirmation message.

I checked your settings and I don't find any link that would cause the bonus page to come up first.

Just because they get the bonus page first that does not affect anything - as long as they get the confirmation message (which they do) and they confirm.

I do think they should be getting pluginthanks.html first and I dont' know why it is pluginbonus.html first - however Stone made them the same at one point so it really is not that big of an issue.

I have had a message to him for 2 days and he has not responded.

It is not about your website. They are all set up the same. You have both pluginthanks and pluginbonus pages there. I set it up myself.

I also set up the autoresponder and it is not set up any different. I did notice you made some changes but I do not see that you have done anything that would cause the bonus page to come up first.

You do have access to your website through your hosting account however I don't advise you to do anything if you do not know how.

I am sorry I just don't know what to do about this right now - but as I say the autoresponder is sending confirmation messages and as long as people respond and confirm, it is fine.

OK I figured this out since I never heard from Stone.

He actually has this set up to skip pluginthanks and sends them pluginbonus first for some reason.

I changed yours so that they will get pluginthanks and then they will have to (1) receive the confirmation email and click the confirm link and then (2) the first email will have the link that goes to pluginbonus.

Stone usually has a good reason for doing things the way he does - but if you prefer it this way, you got it!

Sorry it took me so long to just do it -
