Hi Folks, How important within Google algorithm do you think link diversity is? Put another way, accumulating backlinks from only a few sites compared to accumulating the same number and quality of backlinks from many different sites, which would make your site rank higher? |

The purpose of link diversity is to make your link building campaigns as natural as possible. The link diversity included: IP diversity, anchor text diversity, sites diversity (eg:blogs, web2.0 sites), site platform diversity( eg: blogspot, wordpress, forum). |

It all depends upon how valuable those links are. You can have less number of links from very good websites which benefi your website.

One thing to remember, not all backlinks are equal. When you work on getting your backlinks, make sure they are relevant to your website. High PR backlinks that have no relevancy to your website do not really do you any good. In fact, the search engines may penalize you for links just for the sake of it. A backlink from Adobe may be considered good, while a backlink from TGIF is irrelevant unless you are promoting foods and restaurants. Make sure you research your backlinks by keywords you are trying to get indexed for, then your backlinking will be seen as really relevant to your website and your content by the search engines.
