Average Website Hits for a Starter?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hi everyone, i'm at day 20th. And my website hits is around 950 - 1,350 per day for the last 5 days. What i did is only add coop's articles to my blog and add link to my website. I did not buy any leads. Don't have budget yet. Am i'm doing the right thing? I checked my Autoresponder's list. It's still no luck yet. Hoping so.

Hello,

Give it some time and keep doing the things you are supposed to be doing to increase your traffic.

If you see a trend of your unique visitors going up, you are heading in the right direction. Once you start to really increase your traffic then you will start seeing sign up and sales.

Be patient though. It takes well more than a 20 days to start seeing results but it looks like you are off to a good start.

Hi, global:

Yes, it looks like you're off to a good start. As Matt said, it all takes time. There is much to learn and even when we apply what we've learned, it takes time to build our presence and identity on the Net.

It is good to stay focused on our long term goals and to keep doing everying we can, every chance we get to move our businesses forward.

I'm still not certain about the difference between "hits" and "visits," but one thing is for sure, I reached a new high in my Webalizer (H4P) statistics for October, with a daily average of 2,134 Hits - the highest it's been for me. (I believe Stone's training prefers to focus on Visits with a daily goal of 500 or more visits being our target. I am somewhat distant from that goal, as yet.)

I work at my PIPS business daily and as a result, I have seen a steady increase in traffic on a month-by-month basis.

Keep working at it. You're moving in the right direction too!

Hi Globaltent78,

Your going fine, just keep your money in your pocket and concentrate on the free or cheap things at present and continue to work at it. It's all about building your presence and content around the internet and there is no better way than the articles you are using.

Hits are one thing but it's visits per day you are after and the magical 500 is Stones's target so I would suggest you click on site statistics in the webepanel of your host4profit site and you can see all the stats you need but I saw a huge slump around August due to the present financial climate but things are started to turn around again but nowhere near what I had. I would be intereted to hear if other members have experienced some poor figures lately.

regards,

Mal.

Hi, Mal:

I haven't checked in StatCounter, but in my WEBePanel, my Visits have risen consistently each month over the past year. The rise from month to month hasn't been a large amount, but it has been an increase from one month to the next. October jumped up a bit more, on the average.

I'd like to hear from others, too, as you have requested.

Patience is key to success online. The Plug-in Profit Site is not a get rich overnight scheme. It takes a lot of hardwork to promote your website in forums and articles that have been submitted.

It is important to monitor the traffic to your website as you keep on posting on forums and summiting articles. Identify the methods that bring in the best results. As I said earlier, patience is very important.

Thanks. But Hits is not important. What we need is the number of Unique Visitors to our site. Stone's challenge us to reach 500 Unique Visitors per day. Take the challenge....

Hi,

When I started with PIPS and followed Stone's plan I had 500-600 visits to my site. Now due to money issues I stopped some of his ad suggestions. I'm not sure which one gave me that good traffic. Adminder pop unders or the free certificate to the 880,000 web site submissions. My visits have dropped to 4-50 per day. I'm currently using traffic exchanges, posting ads on them and other sites, I have one article on EZine article, and writing more. I'm trying to learn and implement SEO stuff.

Is there anything I can do to increase my visits to 100-200 and maintain those numbers?

To your success and happiness,

I am on day 13 and my hits are only around 213 per day, and to be honest I think they are mostly me checking my site! I'm curious how you added your links? What advice can you give me, best way to add links? Anyone? Thanks!

Hi,

I also very confusing with the hits and visit. My WEBePanel show different number between hits and visit. For example my hits in one day is 1838 and visit only 6.

If compare between Statcounter and WEBePanel make me more confusing!! Statcounter show less amount visit then WEBepanel.

Anyway I'm still far..far..away from 500 unique visitor a day. So far only manage to get 73 unique visitor for this month.

PIPS is the Plug In Profit Site...

I'm no expert on websites, but I'm pretty sure the difference between hits and visitors is this:

Visitors is what you want...more particular, unique visitors. That is what "visitors" stand for. Hits are only the number of times a visitor clicked something on your site and was sent to another page on your site. So this does not matter as much as your "visitors"

You have it exactly right. Unique visitors is what you are aiming for. If you are using your H4P stats remember that hits also include your own. If you visit your site a lot in admiration of it's beauty your hit count can go very high.

Traffic is normally the biggest challenge for newbies, but sounds like you're doing great. Now you just need to tweak your landing page to entice people to give you their information.

You can go to Free Tools and Tips- Internet Marketing Resources and get a bunch of software as a free gift for signing up. I also suggest having your url on this forum for someone to review.

Good luck!

So far for my 20 or so days of having a PIPS site, I have totalled over 300 visits, averaging about 25-35 a day on my "peak" days. It isn't easy to get the totals high when working around a full-time job, but with the learning curve improving every day the totals will continue to climb I bet!

Hi Globaltent78,

Visitors to your website is more important than the number of hits, but it does help too to check what your potential customers are interested with. It's very important to learn SEO or have others do that for you. It will take a while but after sometime you will see the progress, it's actually a result of the combinations of all your efforts.

Global,

Hits don't really matter. Unique visitors is the key. My best after 6 months is 240 unique visitors per month. All I did was article marketing to ezine articles. I would say it worked pretty well. If you can top 240 unique visitors, then I think you are doing pretty well.

Indeed hits mean nothing. You get a 'hit' every time a file is requested from your server. This means every .jpg, .gif, .png every HTML page.

You might find that 1 visit from a surfer might produce 50-100 'hits' on your server, so it can be said that the only thing that matters is the number of visitors.

You will also find that hits can be counted by visits from spam bots, web crawlers and any variety of Internet based bots.

One of the important things to realise is that most people think that having a #1 ranking in Google will suddenly mean that you can take an early retirement with a wealth beyond ones wildest dreams.

I hate to burst the bubble, but this is not so.

If you have 1,300 hits per day but only 6 visit. That means that your server is probably cluttered up serving way too many files for each page. It also means that you - in real terms - have had 6 visitors come to view your site.

I have optimised my site as far as is possible (without using a CDN). I have good rankings in the search engines for many of my articles (all original) and I am currently looking at just over 1,000 visitors per month.

For more on site optimisation have a look at http://www.caspianit.co.uk/iis6-webs...ebpagetest-org

Just log in to your hosting account and access the index.html from the file manager - make a back up copy before you try to change anything.

The Meta Tags are right at the top - be very careful not to delete any brackets or code. Just carefully insert the keywords -

Hi Globaltent78, your site is down, perhaps do you want to check with your web provider?

I think getting more unique visitors is good to your website as unique visitors spend 20-30 minutes on your website like reading your post, etc.

I think you are making a great start, keep it up!

Hi Global.

I have had my site since middle November 2009 so I am still a newbie. Since then my hits have risen from an average of 99 per day to 6000 plus per day and Google has found 35 backlinks to my site. This is good for boosting my traffic ranking but Im only getting about 6 unique human visitors a day and not making regular sales yet.

I look forward to the day when all the search engine hits I am getting start to turn into human visitors as my page rankings hopefully improve.

Keep doing what you are doing, be patient and play the long game. Keep writing articles and blogs to add content and build back links and keep your money in your pocket for now.

I also update my sitemap regularly (do not resubmit, only crawl) so that the search engines know that I am adding new content. Do not resubmit your site map to Google because your XML sitemap automatically pings the search engines after crawling and it might be considered spamming.

As for building your list. That will take time. I have only five opt-in subscribers from my opt-in page. I will have to promote it a bit more.

Keep doing what you are doing and good luck!

Regards, Chris

Hi guys,

i have recently started my own business distributing vip cards. Things have gone really well, we basicly street sell our product which gives us quite alot of trafic to our site.

so far in the last 3 weeks we have had 22,000 hits, 614 visits and 244 unique visitors. we have only work three days and on those three days we have had most of our visits.

Sounds ok right? wrong! so far we havn't sold a single card online even though they are superb quality and value. i would have thaught some one would have baught on while we sell them on the streets and then told a freind to get one on the site. this has not happened and we have no budget for advertising as we have been on a shoestring budget from day one.

Does anybody know how i can push customers on to my site to buy a card as all our visitors are allready card holders!

All ideas welcome and if you would like to check my site out for ideas heres the link: T2T VIP Card is the number one VIP card/discount card to have if you are local to Blackburn, Wigan and Doncaster.Residents Save money and get great offers from quality businesses like Blue Inc or Burger king. Use your card from town 2 town.

Thanks guys

Wow -- paid the same thing -- I had zero results from it and canceled it yesterday. Not one visitor in the same time frame and no hits. I have additionally paid JustArticles and two others to drive traffic to my site. Notta -- nothing.

God must be shining on you. It is possible for someone to divert your traffic and if so how can you tell?

Please understand

THERE IS NO INSTANT
THERE IS NO MAGIC

MARKETING TAKES TIME
MARKETING TAKES CONSISTENT EFFORT ON YOUR PART OVER T-I-M-E.

Traffic does not necessarily result in sales.

You need lots of traffic to get to the ones that will generate sales

Imagine how many ads you see every day.

Now how many do you respond to?
None? then you are normal.

Try to wrap your head around this and spend your time productively developing and promoting your business rather than get discouraged by expecting things to happen instantly - overnight.

There is also no 'average' since it depends on how much effort and what kind of effort you are putting forth.

Just keep pushing forward and eventually if you make enough effort and you give it a realistic amount of time, long term strategies like article marketing will work.

I'm here to learn from you guys. Because after three and half months with PIPS, my average visits per day is 20 only, average page views per day is 60, got three PIPS sign-ups, earned me $23.55 with Google AdSense, $103 with MyWorldPlus, $24 with SFI, zero income with Traffic Wave, $3 with GDI and $100 with HostGator. Sometimes, I feel like I am lagging behind my target/goal. Is this normal? Am I not performing well with PIPS?

Let me just add that it will take much more than 20 days before you get results incomewize from your efforts. I don't want to discourage you but it took me many years to reach my goals not only as a home business but incomewize also. On a positive note, every bit of effort counts even if its a 5 min chore building up your home based business and income at home.

I think that the name of the game is signups!

You can get 1,000,000,000 hits and 1,000,000 visitors and 100,000 unique visitors, but if you don't get them to signup to your offer, what did you gain?

Probably, visitors get you some SEO advantage, but you will really take time to get into earnings, and then into profits.

If you are not getting visitors or a good number, look at your ad campaign, it might seem good to you, but not for the prospects you want.

If you are getting visitors, but no signups, look at your offer. It might not be appealing enough for the prospects you want.

It is not what you think of your ad campaign or offer, it is what your visitors think and push them to visit or give you their e-mails.

I don't know much about marketing, I just copycat what seems working for others, and try to join successful marketers. And at present, after having several disastrous experiences, I trying to follow the rules.

I have been for two months with my present business opportunity and I have already over 100 signups. Never had such a success even with PPC and other paid ad campaigns.

I think that the success is due to the offer. People visiting my site like what I am offering them. I didn't produce it, it is part of an affiliate program.

Another very important issue is ad tracking: you have to know from where you are receiving your visitors and how each convert.

I had not done this before, as such, had blind stats.

You have to track each ad, ad campaign, website, web page.

It is time consuming, but I learned the hard way, it is necessary for marketing success.

Gomer:

I think you are doing great.

Sincerely,

Antonios

As far as your visitor numbers are increasing, you are on the right track. You have done this with a free traffic building system, which means a high ROI. The idea is to get a growing visitor amount and a decent conversion rate, i.e. that a healthy share of the visitors will do, what you wish them to do.

This business is a long term operation, where you have to test and finetune tricks regularly. It takes time to build an image of a trusted marketer and to be able to stand out from the crowd.

First of all good to know there are Malaysian in PIPS.
I'm still new in PIPS too. I think today is the day 20 or 21 I join the pips.
And few days ago I subscribe to PIPS-coop. Before I join the coop I struggle by myself using the standard traffic exchange and safelist and manage to get one new member sign up to my affiliate link.

I assume the coop will at least get better result compare to me. But after reading members opinion today, I'm little bit dissapointed. Seem like I won't get any new sign up if I just depend entirely to PIPS coop. I was excited after reading the testimonial in the PIPS coop sales page. The user claim that they got easy sign up after join the coop. Now I think the testimonials are fake. Don't get mad at me ok. This just my opinion.

But this situation also has trigger me to be more motivated. You can't depend on others and then just sit like that. Now I'm going to heavily marketing my business and I will be proud that the result I will get is not from others help but entirely by myself.

Oh yeah and I believe the remodification of certain marketing material provided by PIPS is neccessary. Example the PIPS lead page. Can you imagine after driving more than 3000 visitors in less than a week in 5 top traffic exchange, I've got no sign up.
This mean the lead page not appealing enough for visitors to opt-in.

So please start reinvent. Not the whole marketing strategy or material but some of them.

Hi Jinan,

Never put your time into one marketing strategy. There are many ways to market your business other than traffic exchanges as I am sure you know.

I took a quick peek at your home page and here is the keyword your targeting:

Home Business Ideas at JinanBestIncomeStreams.com

<html><head><title> Home Business Ideas at JinanBestIncomeStreams.com</title>
<meta name="Copyright" content="Copyright Hazuwan Hamdan">
<meta name="Subject" content=" Home Business Ideas at JinanBestIncomeStreams.com">
<meta name="description" content=" Home Business Ideas at JinanBestIncomeStreams.com">
<meta name="keywords" content=" Home Business Ideas at JinanBestIncomeStreams.com">

If your main keyword is "home business ideas" that is a very competitive keyword and it might take you a couple of years to get to page 1.

Here is page 1 as of today:

Google

Some of those sites have been around page 1 for years so it will take alot of work to get to page 1. I used to have a site that was on page 1 for "work at home" and "work from home" and it took me 2 years to get there. So you can do it just wanted to let you know the journey ahead of you.

Its always best when first starting out to aim for a keyword that has no more than 100,000 competing pages in quotes:

"home business ideas" instead of home business ideas

The other thing I would recommend is choose 1 or 2 keywords that have at least 2500-3000 searches per month using the Google keyword tool.

https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeti...AS#search.none

After you do your initial search for a keyword you will have 3 boxes in the left hand column. Make sure you checkmark "Exact" when using the parameters in doing your research for keywords.

Hope this helps!

Take care
Jeff Casmer

Jinan - also please refer to the 30 Days to Success training - Last week or so Stone has added quite a bit more about SEO and keywords to the new Day 10 - and he also highly encourages you to change your main keyword which is generic and assigned to all new members.

Thanks Jeff. So thats how it work. Mr Stone Evans didn't explain about the competing pages. He just told me in the training guide to pick keyword that have search result of below 100000 is good enough. Maybe he forgot. Its ok. Now I understand. Stupid me.

Please guys, accept my apologies. I just little bit down and frustrated. Now I'm more energize and will never ever again surrender.

Sorry again.

Hi Matt, I just started as well, but I didnt take it day at a time, i Finished 30 days in a week following all steps. How long does it take to develop a good, solid business? Any tips that you have would be useful? For example, how to get more hits and a mailing list?
