Hello! My name is Amber Fuller and I'm 27 years old. I've been a FT housewife and mom for a good majority of my "adult years". The past 9 months of my life have literally been the most traumatic that I've personally ever been through. I was ripped from my home by the sheriffs dept in September who told me that my children and I were in danger and needed to leave. I ended up spending months homeless at a woman's shelter with my kids. Big extreme difference being well off and spoiled to being poor with nothing lol. Everything was on me, no contact was allowed between my husband and I. The beginning of the year I was finally able to talk to my husband and he arranged it so the kids and I could move into our old house (we have 2). anyway~> So the past six months now I've had court hearings, pending divorce/legal separation, custody disputes (representing myself), doctor appts here and there, so much stress my doctor is worried about me dropped another 10 in the passed 4 mos. lol /shakes head/ life is one crazy ride. I am not saying this for anyone to feel bad for me (trust me, I'm leaving out most of it) I'm only trying to give you a glimpse of what has pushed me here. I'm a strong person, not much rattles me. Something though has snapped in me. Such a deep deep longing, a desperation, if you will, has come over me the past few weeks. I just had to make some drastic changes in my life and grab the bull my the horns. I've been studying all over the web on different ways to make money from home. "Eat, sleep, breathing it" I even had a dream about making good links last night! I've been studying, researching, everything from website making, marketing, advertising, profitable niches, squeeze pages, marketing related products, affiliated partnerships, social media etc.
I am ending my 4th day I believe being involved with pips and going on day 27. My motivation, would be my son (7) and my daughter (2). I want to give them a better life. I want to be able to financially enjoy ourselves again no matter which way life leads us and ultimately get a grip on these ugly circumstances and bend them to behoove me. Im Adriana, own a 7 yr old cleaning business in Dallas TX. After realizing I had alot to learn when it came to running a business I decided to log all my successes and failures early on. These days the business runs like a well oiled machine. I couldn't be any prouder about my staff, my business and the wonderful customers whom are loyal to us year after year.

Might read/sound funny but sometimes I feel like Superman hovering above the world, and listening for a consensus or a single voice to scream out above the rest...

My business has a multipurpose site with the primary focus on design. I'm interested in seeing through all the noise and getting things to work for me finally. I'm confident I have a cool looking site but, I'm a technical thinker....just means "cool looking" isn't really the focal point. It just suits the niche.

Right now, I have a donation campaign going...and in concert with that, I'm working on building content for the new year through utilizing my blog and the social sites. I'm looking for the best information and techniques that I can find for my particular type of company, to be a part of my marketing and promotional strategy & exercises. Everything's legal, I have products, pricing, and seemingly everything else one would need to scale things up....mmm...got pretty good credentials because of who I've worked with/for...etc.

The thing is, nothing's bringing in any real income (inconsistent big/small paydays). And even less, if at all, from online. To be honest, being a graphic designer kind of inherently brings me business from word of mouth or, just from people seeing the work I've done for others. That's fine because I understand the life of freelance but, I'm interested in more.

Since it's just me doing everything I think a big part of why is I'm stuck because I don't have more eyes on it that I can trust. So? Please contact/PM/IM me if "helping people" is your thing based on what I've talked about here. I'm a pretty open book and always astute.

I hope you will spend some time in the sub-forums like Warrior Special Offers/Warriors for Hire and Wanted Members Looking to Hire You - AND Joint Ventures.

We @ Plug-In Profit Site give a lot of credence to 'multiple streams of income' - In fact I think this is the most creative and fluid way to have a business - and you seem to really embrace that -

So you may want more consistency in being able to predict exactly how much income you will have on any given day, however the way it works with multiple streams is that one month one stream may be dried up temporarily but it won't matter because maybe another stream is doing really well and back and forth.

I like thinking of my own home business as having facets - I have my main stuff (tech/admin) and a steady paycheck but then I have other facets like ghostwriting projects/campaigns that come and go but which can represent extra income as time permits.

I have to admit I am not much of a marketer at all - (don't even bother to look at my neglected sites that represent 0 income) - To me they are just like having lots of clothes I never wear. I know what to do and what works but I just can't relate to doing it - so I have to work harder because my thing is 'services'.

It occurs to me that maybe that is your problem - maybe you should check out the copywriting sub-forum as well and as you say 'word of mouth' offline, well with online it is content or copy and getting it out there - so maybe that is all you need is to market and promote your businesses more effectively.

It's not like this place is not crawling with both sides of the coin - people needing designers, and copywriters and marketing strategists needing work. Just be careful to get references from real people that you can actually communicate with and whether you are doing work or getting work done, protect your interests, as we swim with the sharks (life). (e.g., escrow, legal contracts, etc.)

So I don't know much but just to surmise what I got from what you wrote, you just need to focus more on getting in front of people who are already looking for you...
