Warriors, I've overhauled my site a bit...and am looking for opinions. I want to know how a few pages look across different computers/settings/browsers. First page is the 'squeeze' or opt-in page (please don't sign up) - I'm Sick of It... Again, don't sign up - you all know what's in the auto-responder! But the next page I want you to see is the page you would go to after signing up...and that is - American Marketing University - New Student Orientation I appreciate your thoughts...and also hope that this inspires some of you to step out of the box a little. |

Jeremy, I use IE8 primarily and both of your pages have issues - nothing that probably can't be fixed easily, but, there are still issues. On you optin page, a grey box keeps popping up with the same text as you have on your page. There are a lot of junk characters within the box. It almost immediately shows up and is very distracting. Your 2nd page has a few issues as well. The Dotcomology ebook is on top of the text and the blue arrow covers some of the text. In the next paragraph. there is a another blue arrow pointing to the text and covering the first few words and you have a bad graphic or image as a red X appears (this is the graphic for the PIPS Sales page). Hope this helps. Allen |

Thanks all...I used iWeb to build it on my Mac, so I was thinking that there might be IE8 issues. I'll have to work on that... On a positive note, a quick test to some safelists netted me 9 auto-responder sign ups and 1 SFI affiliate over the last two hours. We'll see how the next 24-48 pan out while I work on compatibility. Thanks again, you all are awesome!! |

One more thing, you might wish to change the link on your Dotcomology download to a new window and a zip file. It takes WAAY too long to open the PDF file and most people will just X out of your site before it even opens. I think it took me almost a minute before the PDF opened. Also, when the book is in a zip format even a newbie knows how to save it because there are instructions. When the PDF opens, IF and I say IF they are really new to the Internet, they seriously may not know that they have to save it to their computer for future reference. Just a thought. Allen |

Okay...I made dotcomology a .zip which didn't compress it much. Went from 1.7 to 1.1mb. But it will be faster nonetheless and like Allen says, the clicker will get walked through the process of opening it. I also moved some stuff around and got it to look better in my version of IE8...I know everyone has different settings though. Looks good to me in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. I'm guessing IE8 has some prejudices...and am glad that most of my visits come from Firefox users! I also know that it won't look good to everybody... Thanks again for the feedback...initial testing of the site is going very well!! |

Well, 24 hours after posting the first page to a handful of safe-lists here are the results: - About 1,000 unique visits... - 23 'Net' subscribers to auto-responder (confirmed that didn't unsubscribe right away there are ten who have yet to confirm and four who unsubscribed so 37 gross) - 1 SFI Affiliate - 1 PAID My World Plus Member!!! Not too bad for a test run, right? Made some money from it anyway... |

Great results JV... Most safelists I use tend to have negative results. Maybe it's time that I find others that will produce. Keep up the good work. Dan |

Thanks Dan, safelists are tricky...in fact Stone does not recommend them, so I sort of went astray on that. But you gotta figure that everyone reading your email and clicking for credits so that they can email...is also trying to accomplish the same thing. And they're probably 'Sick of It'. I read an ebook about safelist marketing, that I got for free and applied some of the techniques with these pages. The PIPS Co-Op Funded Proposal page works well in safelists too. One thing that I've learned is that you can't necessarily use the same ad across all platforms...you have to get into the emotions of your audience. I've been reading a lot of marketing books, which help a ton to understand how to take what Stone gives us a step or two further. One thing that all these books say is that although most won't admit it, we're all emotional buyers. The funny part is that most people think that they are smart shoppers when asked, but then when their buying habits are studied and fMRI brain scans are done, the emotional center of the brain lights up like a Christmas tree when they see something that they buy...not the analytical part of the brain! Buyology by Martin Lindstrom is a great book to read about this topic. Here's a great example - Numerous blind taste tests show that an overwhelming majority of people prefer the taste of Pepsi over Coke...after this test, send them out to shop for soda and the overwhelming majority buy Coke instead of Pepsi!! Fascinating...but the fact of the matter is that the Coca-Cola brand is ingrained into our psyche and emotions. So you can have a superior product that is generally cheaper and tastes better...but it doesn't matter if people don't 'feel good' about buying it. Our emotions determine what we buy, not logical analysis...believe it or not. Whew! That was long winded enough, wasn't it? Lol... |
