Spam Comments!

Hi every1

In the last few days i have received an abundance of spam comments on my website, around 30 everyday. Just wondered if anybody else has been getting these?

Regards

It's sad to say, but, as long as you blog, and you are accepting comments on your blog, YOU WILL HAVE SPAM.

Here is some good information if you are using WordPress:

You can always use a plugin like Akismet to filter spam. I actually use Disqus for my commenting system and they have been great for spam. I don't think I've had more than 2 spam comments since I installed it a few months back. Might be worth a try.

Akismet is great, but it doesn't solve the problem of receiving spam. The spam comes through, and you end up having to check the filter to make sure no legit comments got caught in it.

Here's a Wordpress plug-in I've been running for months now, which has eliminated all spam by 95%: WordPress › WP Captcha-Free « WordPress Plugins. After using it, I don't even need to have Akismet activated.

I recommend checking it out.

Using Akismet and NoSpamNX will take care of a large percentage of the spam. Captcha will definitely help as well.
