Hello, I thought you all might get a kick out of this, I know I did. Just a few months into PIPS and while learning about the importance of keywords and article marketing I thought I might try and have a little fun with Google while testing out the whole keyword theory. I wrote one article using 'how to drink beer and make money' as the keywords. Typing in those keywords in Google today, nine months later and that article still holds the numbers 1,2, and 3 spots! how to drink beer and make money - Google Search It doesn't get the # of hits that it should though, right? Who wouldn't want to learn how to drink beer and make money? Cheers, Matt |

Hi Matt, That sounds good... I prefer to drink wine and make money. I managed to get to the top of the search engines recently for a phrase that I didn't intend to. I was blogging about how to get a high search engine rank for free when I found myself on top of Google for "free ways to get high". I guess these people were sorely disappointed when they arrived on my SEO website. Cheers, Suzanne |

That is funny Suzanne. I have managed to get to the top of the search engines drinking wine as well. The key is to start when you first get up and keep drinking all day long while you work on your SEO strategies. You can get "high" doing this as well. Matt, This just goes to show that if you can find under searched words and target them you can do the same thing and actually get traffic that matters. I suppose you can get more paid PIPS sign ups if they are drinking beer when they hit your sales page though. |

Matt, You are hilarious. This reminds me of the 6 minute abs scene in the movie "Something about Mary". I think I'll post an article under "How to drink MORE beer and make money. Norm |

Wow, you made it to the top 3 spots... Well done! Don't mind me asking, how can I get my website up on the selected keyword phrase I'm using - namely my website? I read it somewhere amongst the loads of ebooks I got but I'm kinda messed up on how to do that right about now. =\ Asher |

Hi Asher, I don't mind you asking at all, I know how confusing it all can be with all the information thrown your way. If you already have your keywords great, your next step is to SEO your website for your chosen keywords. After that it's all about getting one way back links to your website. This process takes some time depending on how competitive your keywords are. The more back links you have, the higher your website will rank. What helps me is that when I wake up, the first thing I do is write down exactly what I want to get done that day. This helps keep me focused on what I need to do. Every day on that list I am doing things like writing articles, posting on my blog, using social bookmarks, posting in forums, etc. Little things like that are how you will start to trickle in some traffic and add up your back links to receive the free traffic from the search engines. "How to Drink Beer and Make Money" was easy to rank with because there is really no competition. As Jeff stated, you can find some keywords with very low competition that will be easy for you to rank and receive traffic. It is your job to do the research to find the keywords. Otherwise, just keep yourself busy and make sure you are doing a little each day to increase your back links. Let me know if you need me to be more specific. Matt |

So good to see a funny thread. Matt, this is great, 4 spots, it's amazing. I also noticed that I get traffic to phrases I never try to target. Did you know people are searching "free ways to build a free home"? Tanny |

Recent reports first stated that red wine was heart-healthy to have each day. Then they revised that to say that a glass or two of any alcoholic beverage was healthy, whether red or white wine, or even beer. So, skip the caffeine and reach for the brewsky. Just remember to stop after one or two. In excess, all are harmful. Jeremy |
