PIPS Sales Page
Share on:

I am wondering what other PIPSters think about the looooong PIPS sales page and whether or not they also think that its inordinate length hurts potential sales. I think that it could definitely be shortened for effectiveness (at least take out some of the testimonials), and the lengthy sign up process only adds to the problem. I came to PIPS through a long magazine article, which I think is more appropriate for print media but not for online. In any case, my hunch is that the long sales page hurts online sign ups because of its length and should be shortened. What do you think?

Some expert copywriters say that shorter is better and some say that longer is better. It just depends on who you ask. Seems to me that more people use long sales letters and most of the guru's use long ones on their products so they must be effective.

As for the testimonials... I think the more, the better. It shows that real people are having success.

What you say is true (except about the testimonials). Keep in mind though, with PIPS, there are 5 or 6 programs you have to sign up for, as opposed to just one for most other opportunities. I think now with all the opportunities being offered out there, sales pages have to be more streamlined to keep people's attention. I just think the PIPS sales page is not as effective today (online) as it may have been in the past.

At one time there was a post asking about the sales page and Traffic Swarm. It was surprising to me that most of those that replied had joined PIPs through a long sales page on Traffic Swarm. I know that I personally read and reread the sales page several times before I signed up and I found it on TS. It was all the information that lead me to make my decision.

I think the long sales page is good. It gives the reader all the information they need plus it motivates them to take action.

If the sales copy is good, then you will read it.
I also read and reread this this page before i joined and I also checked the testimonials, I didn't contact any one because i found them here in the warrior forum.

Testimonials are good, they can help you decide if the business is legit or not.

I do not like long sales pages and did not like the PIPS long sales page.

However ... as Tanny just said, if the sales copy is good, it keeps you reading and gets you to buy in! It sure worked on me, even though I do not like long sales pages.

Stephen just made a comment about how the long page provides all the info a person needs to make a decision, and I agree. I don't like long sales pages, but I sure like them better than pages that don't tell you ENOUGH information!

Like Tanny, Stephen and others, I read that page numerous times going back to it again and again over several days. There were a few things I didn't like and didn't understand ... so I sent a gripe email to Patricia.

Well, after I got tuned in (in a good way!)I went back and read that darned long page once more ... and signed up!

I rarely ever read a whole long presentation right off. I will read the top and if compelling, I will go to the bottom line (price) - if it is feasible then I will go back and read it. If it starts to drag, I stop and move away.

That is precisely the point though, as mentioned above, it's about the quality of the sales presentation. If it is good, you will be interested and want to know more. If not it wouldn't matter short or long, you wouldn't be interested.

It was exactly the excitement and complete information that I got from the PIPS sales page that made me join.

Actually it sounded simple compared to so many other programs I had tried and failed with. All the pieces were there of all the various things I had been trying to figure out how to make work together...
