Hi, I'm not sure what web site you are selling. Please list it. Also could you post some pics of your stats, daily visitor count, page views and proof of income generated. Need lots of positive info to sell a site for 5K.

Is it on auction somewhere? If so post the link, it would help.

Thanks
Stephen

Hi Mohamed,

A site will only sell for what people are willing to pay for it.

I have sold a few sites so you have to ask yourself....

What is the monthly income on the site?

What are your rankings for the best keywords you are targeting?

Why would someone buy my site instead of build a new one from scratch?

These are all factors when trying to sell a site that you have to ask yourself...

Take care

It's about how much traffic and sales the site gets and is documented by the seller that I see that makes a huge difference in the sale price.

The age of the domain also might help.

So better to season the whole thing by getting traffic etc before selling it (and you might change your mind if you get lots of sales!)

I hate to burst your bubble but you will not get anywhere near $5000 for that site.

I promise I'm only trying to be helpful and not intending to be mean at all. But selling websites happens to be something I am very knowledgeable about and I just can't see any way you will get nearly that amount for your site.

It needs higher rankings, more traffic, good earnings, higher PR, lots of original content, better design, less clutter, etc...

I have to agree with Trent on this one.

What you have is basically the "Standard" PIPS Website that Stone provides newbies for FREE.

There is really nothing "Unique" about it.

I did some very quick ressearch and here is what I found on your site:

Alexa: 2,513,124 (Definately needs more traffic)
PR: 2 (very low ranking)

Link Popularity:

Google: 0 (This is a real killer - you have NO GOOGLE LINKS)
Yahoo: 567
AllTheWeb: 0
AltaVista: 156
TOTAL: 723 (Total backlinks to your site - very minimal)

To give you an idea of the difficulties in selling a site or domain, I have a Blog that at times was getting over 11K unique visitors a DAY.

Since I am working on 2 big WP Projects, I decided to sell the domain for some extra money back in November 2010.

My ASKING was $1,500

( I still haven't sold it, and may end up just putting it on a basic auction and selling it for what ever it will sell).

Here are that sites basic stats:

Alexa: 1,235,213 (was 685,982 in October/November)
PR: 3 (WAS 4 in November)

Link Popularity:

Google: 307
Yahoo: 9757
Live: 125
AllTheWeb: 0
AltaVista 3460

TOTAL: 13,649

I wish you luck in your sale, but, I seriously doubt you will get anything even remotely close to your $5,000 asking price.

I would need to do more research on it and know more about it, but from what I can see right now, I would say you MIGHT be able to get $1000 for it if you are lucky. More realistically you are looking at around $250-500 or so, and even that could be pushing it.

Hi,

I agree with Trent. I would say $250 at the maximum. There is too much work to be done and the site isnt generating much income. You get what you pay for. What I would do is continue to build some backlinks, work on the cosmetic look of the site (not first, backlinks and seo always always first) and do this at your leisure for a couple of more years. Even if this is just for a couple of hours per week could be beneficial down the road.

Take care
