I was going back through my 30 day training program on my PIPS and noticed some new updates. Day 24 is a site called Instant Buzz where Stone has negotiated 100,000 ads for us, which is great.....but When I download the software, my virus protection catches it as "adware" and quarantines it. I've already had some nasty, unpleasant experiences with viruses since joining and getting into the "internet marketing" field ( there are a lot of nasty people out there preying on us ). I don't want to go through that again. My question to the group is, has anyone else used this software and given this a try? What is your experience? Is this safe to use? A link to the site is here: Instant Buzz |

It took me longer to get Instant Buzz installed than it did to use up the 100,000 hits. It then took me forever to completely delete the program as it did not happen with a simple "un-install". Throughout all the threads this has been discussed in this forum, I think you will find a greater percentage who do not think it is worth the time to install. If I remember, Instant Buzz even had directions on how to get around the warning messages. The above statement on this matter is the sole opinion of the writer and is no way an attempt to defame the provider of said services. Leon |

I didn't realize how I might be a target for unsavory people and programs.. I've been interested in internet marketing for years. I'm on some list for sure. Thanks so much for this post. Debbie Kay |

Hello: There have been several InstantBuzz threads in this forum and in other popular online forums. My personal experience, and from what I have read elsewhere, is that far more people have trouble with InstantBuzz than they do success. Problems include messing up most computers, difficulties accessing the IB site, difficulties using the IB site, difficulties using the 100,000 credits, difficulties getting the adbar to work properly in your browser and (when I was involved) difficulties getting tech help. This is unfortunate because when IB DID work for me, it worked great! But due to so many people having so many problems with it, I cannot recommend it. I am a huge fan of the Plug-In Profit Site program in general, but there are a few recommended programs that may have worked for some members in the beginning but simply do not work for a lot of members now. InstantBuzz is one to be wary of in my opinion. GT |

That's what I thought..since this post I have found other posts as well regarding the Instant Buzz software. It sounds like it would be great, although I also question the quality of the traffic ( are these people just clicking through for credits? ). Just to clear up, I don't want to sound like I've had problems with the PIPs program, that is not the case, as far as viruses and all. It just seems like the "internet marketing" field in general is a prime target for nasty people who disguise things to look genuine then install some crap on your computer to probably steal your passwords and commissions. Beware, there is something called "Winpro" or something like that going around disguised to look like a Microsoft antivirus program...it's a virus!!! A nasty one at that. And I didn't even download it, it downloaded itself from a program that I had on my computer that had an autoloader downloading program with it ( the only 2 that could have done it was either Web Army Knife or another program from a group called IM Buzz software.....I don't know which one was responsible, but those were the only 2 I downloaded the day before I got the virus, and they were the only 2 that had "auto-download" applications for downloading "updates". You know what they say...safety first! Be careful out there. |

InstantBuzz Warning Received - Error/Inability to Download. The message for InstantBuzz (IB) is a false positive. The reason is because IB is actually ADWARE which would only be bad if you didn't want to install it or didn't know it was installing on your system. In this case you are purposely trying to install it. The way that it replicates itself to each user, is exactly how trojans and worms behave. These are the 2 reasons why you are seeing this virus message. Having said that you should still scan it because stranger things have happened than an actual virus getting into it. They will say '2% of users have an issue' -- it really depends on your level of security and if you want to circumvent the warnings to go ahead and download it. Some more sensitive anti-adware programs will constantly tell you it is a pup (possibly unwanted program) every time you scan your machine. I guess you have to determine for yourself whether the risk is worth it. Some people do have problems with it - not a virus per se, but just in it 'messing up' their system (memory, etc) - If you still have problems please contact Instant Buzz: TheCustomerHelpDesk.com no response? then email mikefilsaimesupport(at)gmail.com ralph.mikefilsaimesupport(AT)gmail.com |

As far as the other 2 programs you mentioned. I use the Web Army Knife with no problems and no viruses. I have an IM Buzz software membership but not sure if I have any programs downloaded from them. Maybe it's just a coincidence. Alan | |

Hi, Pat has highlighted the problem exactly, I have never classed IB as a virus either but it does have the annoying habit of messing up your PC and the 100,000 hits mentioned may as well be a million as it did nothing for me at all. The problem was made worse as I had a heck of a job to get rid of it, it was like one of those candles the keeps lighting itself again. Unless things have changed I certainly don't think the risk is worth it but I am aware that it works for some but not for most. Mal. |
