That's a good way to get good, quality backlinks. Basically, a good, quality backlink is a link pointing to your site from another site. That site linking to your site has a good standing with Google and is an authority site. That's where the quality comes in. You want the sites your getting backlinks from to have a high authority. They don't have to, however. Just make sure your not getting links from shady sites, and you'll be fine. Another good example is getting backlinks from other sites that are related to your site. Sites that have similar content that are linking to you will really help you out. Now I have a question for you. Have you optimized your website for the search engines? You want your targeted keywords to be anchored to those backlinks your getting. Then, you want your website optimized for those keywords. That's where the total benefit of getting backlinks will come into play. Good, quality backlinks equal free, targeted traffic from Google and other search engines. Hope that helps, Alan |

Just adding to what Alan has said, essentially, an authority site is one that has a large number of inbound links from other well-linked sites. These sites have been in business for some time and usually have high page ranks accorded to them. The quality of its inbound link structure determines its authority and upon linking to other sites, passes on its votes and popularity as well to them. Simply put, obtaining links from authority sites is vitally important to you if you wish to improve your search engine ranking. Linking to an authority site also helps you maintain and improve your general online creditability. Many SEO consultants firmly believed that backlinks account for about 80% of a page’s placement in the search engines, with the other 20% coming from your website format and other onsite optimization work I wrote a post on how to get authority links for your internet home business which you may be interested to read up more. Good back links come in many different ways. Most people work off Goggle PR as a standard of how well a website ranks. It is not the only way to judge how good a back link is, but a great starting point for beginners. So, a back link is in fact a "one way" link going from one website to another. The search engines see a one way link as a good indication of how important that particular website is doing. So a link from a website with high PR going to your website is what search engines call "link love". And the only way to get link love from a high PR site is to do it yourself! Very few websites with high page rank will offer to link to you, unless you are willing to pay for it. The only way to guarantee a one way link from high PR websites is to set them up for yourself. Squidoo is by far the best way. Facebook, myspace, wordpress and propeller are the next best, followed by a massive array of all the other social sites. Build a lens for every web page you have (using the main keyword for each lens). Link your lens to your web page using the same keyword in your anchor text. The link will be indexed is super fast time by the search engine spiders. Links from squidoo are picked up really quickly and you will see the power of that once you do it. You will receive link love from the search engines and that will add to your own PR. Do the exact same for all the other social sites and you are well on your way to getting quality backlinks. Also do the same to the article directories. Submit keyword rich articles and remember to use the main keyword as the anchor text. Also consider syndication for your articles. You will end up with 1000's of one way links going directly to your own website. Just remember that link love does not work at the same pace. Some links will be slow coming in, but it sets you up for the future. Remember that on-site linking between your own pages (with the right anchor text) is almost as important as off-site linking. Be patient and never stop adding one way links! Wishing you great success. |

Blog commenting is another great way to get high quality backlinks. In my opinion high quality is a little misunderstood. PR really doesn't play that big a role in your backlinks. Having links on sites that are relative to your site will do more good than a link on a high PR site that is off topic. Finding high traffic blogs that are in the same Niche as your site, in this case affiliate marketing or Internet marketing, and leaving quality comments that will get posted can make a big difference in your backlink quality and search position. not only that, a good comment can bring Blog visitors to your site. If people like what you wrote they will check out your site. Make your blog comments very relative to the post you are commenting on and throw in one of your keywords if possible. Just be sure and give your comments some thought before submitting them. One last thought, don't shy away from low PR sites. The key is to get a lot of backlinks from a lot of different sources. Plus, a well thought out comment on any site can bring you visitors. |
