My Blog Is Corrupt

Just spent 2hours writing a blog as I promised myself I would, only to find the darn thing has corrupted....it was only text in there...no html nothing.

Agggggggggggh

Thank god I have a backup - 3 days ago

thats 3 people now!

maybe something to do with autoping plugin.....or maybe not having upgraded to wp 2.6?

Its really great that you took your back up 3 days before, you know I am still having a child inside me, always trying to open my things to see how it works inside and I did mess up twice with my blog too and theses were gone but now I am different to my childhood curiosity because both the time I had full backups with me.

I am just 6 months new to internet marketing, but I have a theory that Google pefers Blogspot over Wordpress--especially since it's part of their in house operation. What do you think?

I have no idea why this is happeneing but here is the fix:

This is an issue with a plugin called Smart Update Pinger. Login to your hosting account, go to the file manager and browse to the blogs plugins folder.

If your blog is on the root of the domain: wp-content/plugins and delete the this file: smart-update-pinger.php

If your blog is in a directory of the domain : BlogDirectory/wp-content/plugins and delete the this file: smart-update-pinger.php

Refresh your browser when back to the site and it should be good.

Hi Steid,

That's pretty natural isn't is? It's easier and faster for Google to send it's own little data spies known as spiders over a little house they own called Blogger. Whereas for Wordpress, they'll have to send it some distance over.

Or something like that.

Great realisation though!
