Some things I see new affiliates doing wrong. 1. Not knowing your products. Molst of the PIPs products and recomendations in the 30-day training can be used with no charge. Some for a specified period. You should be using them, trying them out, reading the material. Can't sell what you don't know. 2. Overnight wealth. Many people think because a products has a high payout it will be easy to make some money. Not true. 3. No work involved. For some reason many people think an online business shouldn't require work. Truth be told, in many ways it is harder than a regular brick and mortar business. Traditional business if placed correctly are in plain public view. An online business is hidden among thousands of websites. It takes work to get it out front where people will see it. 4. No research. Many affiliate marketers, especially those trying to start Niche sites do little or no research prior to choosing their Niche. You need to know if there is a demand and if people are spending money on the product, demographics etc.. are important. Starting Niche sites using SFI products can be profitable if you know who you are targeting. 5. Information overload, trying to do far to many things at once. Stick to one promotional method until you have mastered it completely. When that method becomes simple start mastering another one. 6. Opportunity hopping. This is a biggie. When someone isn't making the money they want with a product they start looking for another opportunity. That one fails so it's on to the next. This is what people do when they are looking for a get rich scam or a magic answer to making big money. It isn't what business minded people do. Those with business sense understand it is going to take time and work to build their business. Those who stick with it are the ones with success stories. Those who hop around are the ones who gripe and complain. Thats just some of what I see, maybe others can add to it. Stephen |

My cousin is an opportunity Hopper. Almost everyday he sends me the next great pyramid marketing plan. Once or twice I found something that looked not too bad. However, by the time I asked him how his was going, maybe only a few days later, he was already two plans down the road. He introduced me to online marketing. It isn't like he doesn't put in time but he changes tracks every few hours. He doesn't take the time to learn throughly each new product. I find it hard to sift through all the Bu^%$&it out here. I know there is a ton of good information but there is ten guys trying to sell you junk for every good one. I don't mind paying. I honestly don't mind, in fact I prefer it. Because I feel I can expect something in return for it. For example: I think Google should charge for submission each year. It would be worth $5.00-$10.00 per year for a fair submission. I'll take my chances with the web spyder and the ad words and SEO and content. But the one thing I cannot tollerate is being blacklisted because Google doesn't like my Web Host or something equally stupid. Just give me a fair chance, That's all I want. |

Thank you for your post. I am a newbie. I have both affiliate marketing ideas as well as a product (ebook) of my own. I am baffled by the shear volume of knowledge required to even tiptoe into this arena. I have started turnkey mainstreet businesses up and running with $10K profits and up in the first month or two. This is so much more intensive and competitive -- boggles the mind to the point of scary !! I have learned enough through the PIPS course to understand that I know nothing.

I personally agree with the information overload. I learned right away that in my situation there was no way it was going to happen overnight. Concentrating on certain areas at one time and giving it full attention is the key in my situation. My first month was the training guide and getting to know my website and personalizing it to my satisfaction. Everybody want to make the money and after a month or so most will agree it takes traffic and SEO and Page Rank. All pretty much go hand in hand but all take a lot of work if one wants to see a dollar. Trying to do each one half A**ed won't get anywhere. In my case it has been the last few months concentrating first on SEO then working on PR. The latter is a monster in itself working the long route but in the end the fruit should come. Again paying attention to the details and don't get overwhelmed because the market isn't going anywhere but up. |
